Free falling smoke - The phenomenon observed is the free fall of smoke. This can only occur in a very well controlled space such as the interior of a cup where there are no wind currents that make the smoke fly away, as it normally occours. At last, the smoke is nothing more than diminute particles of ash that are denser than regular particles present in clean air, so they fall down. Even though, smoke is generally dispersed by slow air currents even in apparently closed spaces like a room.
