The garment was inspired by Ghoomar, a traditional women’s folk dance of Rajasthan, India, in which women wear colourful, swinging long skirts. The measured steps and graceful inclinations of the body in this dance form are reflected through controlled volume and meticulously implemented gradient proportion. The smooth sheen of the polyester single jersey and vellore fabrics adds to the elegant, feminine aesthetics, while the bright colours impart a hint of avid festivity.
