Iron Concept

This was a industry-simulated project that focused on taking existing Iron technology and redesigning it to have a new aesthetic and fuctionality.

As an industry focused project the timeline and steps taken were structured to mirror those taken in industry. This included: a product autopsy; user research; ideation; form studies; 3D CAD modelling; prototyping; presentations and documentation.

One of the major aspects within the project was to set and adhere to a clear and definite brief. Three main points were identified as the most important:

- using the existing
electrical components
from a Phillips iron,

- increased ergonomics
for all users,

- use of the existing
manufacturing method
of injection-moulded
ABS for the casing.
