This project was inspired by Gelso & Grand, a minimalist restaurant in Little Italy. I was told to think small, as in 1500 SF as the maximum square footage, small. Overall, both stories of this shop combine to equal 1153 SF. This plan has 2 unisex bathrooms, a drive through, a fully furnished kitchen, including a commercial dishwasher, 2 espresso machines, and 2 interior hanging chairs. Both inside and outside can fit roughly 55 people, still with space to spare. I wanted to maintain the simple themes throughout the shop, especially focusing on a pastel green all the while incorporating dark wood, brick, and concrete. The green theme was introduced specifically to bring a more natural feel to the "concrete jungle".
