Jo's Coffee Shop - Environmental Graphic Design intrigues me, because you get to choose not only the furniture and overall scheme of the restaurant/retail/or exhibition, but you get to research different trends in styles. I always envision the people who this place would attract, and try to picture myself in that environment, and how I would feel.
This is an assignment we had for my EGD class, where we were told to redesign the 1000 sq. ft. space at the bottom of the Austin AMLI lofts for Jo's Coffee. This project really did happen in the exact location- we were just using it as a basis for our research.
Jo's has been in Austin for a while, at another location that was more hippie & hole-in-the-wall, and since it was going to be in a loft, it was supposed to be updated to modern, sleek & refined.
