Faces This is something I have been working on for almost a year when I had some spare time. I am not sure how long it took, but definitely somewhere in hundreds of hours of pure work. One of my goals when I decided to make this thing was to paint a something more detailed and time consuming than anything I have done before. What I wasn't planning was to exceed all my other works by a factor of ten in those respects though. My other goal was to create something I can hang on my wall that I could point at as a legitimate proof of my insanity. There are 209 characters including the really small ones( I think), have fun trying to spot everyone. This is available as a print and various other forms at: http://www.redbubble.com/people/augustinas/works/15985798-faces?ref=recent-owner
Two worlds are literally colliding, and what different worlds they are. This is for a personal game project called Human Upgrade Labs. I'll be making a puzzle out of this illustration.
Implantation. For personal game project Human Upgrade Labs
UPDATE: The game is complete and available for free on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic Will the great celestial instrument that fell from the sky enlighten the entire earth with it's rhythms? Will it destroy civilizations with it's unbearable sound? Only time will tell. This is another illustration that will be used in a personal puzzle game project of mine. Check out the game so far on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic I wasn't quite happy with the last environmental painting I did, I think it lacked the sense of dept among other things. I wanted to try again and also I needed something music themed for the game and just like that, this was born. It always takes me a while until I can look back and evaluate my own past work with fresh eyes, but for now at least I am happier with this one.
Designing characters with over the top hairstyles is a bit of a theme for me. It's fun, it's an easy way to add some variety and the possibilities are endless. This one is definitely the most ridiculous though. I painted this fro a personal game project called Human Upgrade Labs and this image will serve as a base for a puzzle where you have to sneak some observation drones past this artificially created sentinel monster. The hair are supposed to be various sensors covering the entire region. Also this is one of those painting that I had brewing in the back of my head for a long while but i kept postponing because I wasn't sure if my skills were where they need to be yet. It's always a bit intimidating to start on a larger, more complicated piece, but in the end I'm quite happy with the result. And here's the game this painting will go into: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
Space Whale Castle This one was both fun and challenging. There's a bunch stuff going on and a bunch different perspectives in one image and a lot of rooms viewable from different angles. The client asked me to draw a space whale with a castle on it's back for his D&D campaign. Also, to rephrase just a bit, I was asked to draw this in a way that would resemble M. C. Escher if he was really into Lovecraftian horror.

I've been drawing some monsters in my free time recently. It's fun and creepy, which is also a kind of fun. These are some of those fleshy abominations I came up with. Also I am planning to use most of these in a puzzle game I'm making for fun, available for free on itchio: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs And it already has a lot of monsters and various creepy spooky things.
Here's a map I drew for a client recently. It's fun to work on an underground map like this, it's a rarer bread.
A remote town built on a the palm of the remains of an ancient giant. Why is this town so segregated? Do they worship the giant and wait for the it's promised return? Do they fear the promised return? If not, then why would they build a town in such a secluded corner of the world? Well, some people just value their space and privacy more than others. You may even be able to visit this town. But please be polite, don’t make too much noise or display inappropriate levels of enthusiasm. If you take this advice and are very lucky, you might receive the fabled nod of acknowledgement. If you do, know that this is an invitation to visit again. So I painted this for fun like I tend to do. The hand I used for reference is of course mine, just more wrinkly and endowed with greener veins in this version. It took a quite a few tries until I managed to take a decent reference picture with my left hand holding the phone.
In the future even robots can be curious and there just might be some lost knowledge deep in the dusty archives. I've been a big reader since I was a child and while my apartment is a bit less dusty, the general state of book related things is closer to this image than it probably should. I will collapse the floor sooner or later. I drew this for a personal game I'm working on and this will go into a small puzzle minigame where you have to find hidden images. Not telling exactly what will be hidden in what way, but there is a fairly obvious hint in this illustration. And here's the game so far. Give it a try, it's completely free: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
And here's another map I drew for a client, for a book. A top down map this time, which is a rarer type for me. A few days ago I emailed a few people about projects that were still under NDAs last time I checked and several pieces I worked on were released from that, so now I have several maps I need to portfolioize, haha Also check out my personal project that includes a ton of strange artwork. It's a scifi themed puzzle game available for free on itchio: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
Well, it's not an actual alien child, actually. I painted this for a personal puzzle game project called Human Upgrade Labs which takes place in far future where extreme body modification is almost casual, even for children and pets. The idea is that the mother here is influenced by ancient fashion and from their perspective the Victorian times and the later half of 20th century when the gray alien look became popular are so close together that they kinda blend into the same thing. A lot of misinterpretation can happen in thousands of years and digital media doesn't exactly tend to be preserved as well as stone tablets either. Here's a link to an early but fully playable version of the game: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
I designed a banknote - the Infinibuck. It's for a personal game project called Human Upgrade Labs. I am making a bargaining minigame/ puzzle and I don't, strictly speaking, need this banknote, but it seemed like a fun thing to draw. Like always this took way longer than it should have to make.
So I have been working on maps and other assets for multiple table top games for a client Into The Unknown for a good long while. The thing is, these are large projects and it seems like the parts I tend to work on are in heavy spoiler territory as well, so I have not been able to share much of it yet. These are small parts of the cycle I and II maps I drew for Aeon Trespass: Odyssey game. You might even notice that next to my signature it says "around 2021" and that's both because these are pieces from two maps and also because I changed two ssd drives in the mean time and the creation dates on the files don't show up correctly and I'm too lazy to go find the exact dates, haha.
First book from the DemonWars series by R.A. Salvatore are getting a new fancy edition and I was contacted to make a new version of the old map from over 20 years ago, I think. The story takes place in the Lands of Corona. Here's the Kickstarter for this new edition, check it out: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wraithmarked/dw1
So these are some environmental assets I painted for a personal game project Human Upgrade Labs. I just released an update with 5 new levels with these sprites in levels that are kinda a mix between 2d and 3d. You can try it out for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
Here's a board game map I drew for a client last year. And here's a link to the pre-release page for the game: http://carabasgame.com Also check out my personal project that includes a ton of strange artwork. It's a scifi themed puzzle game available for free on itchio: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
So, last year I designed and painted over 80 items for a client, Unlimited Realms, and I can finally share that artwork. Here are some random items from that project( I ran out of themes for these since not all of them were supposed sets of multiple armors or multiple swords or such). Check out the website and the module for DnD that includes these items https://unlimitedrealmsltd.com/ Also check out my personal project that includes hundreds of item designs, among other things. It's a scifi themed puzzle game for now available for free on itchio: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
Here's a map I drew for a client for a book series called "Estado de Holograma" and it will have 5 books in total. The books will be going on Kickstarter early next year and they are is Spanish only, but there are plans to translate everything into English as well. A brief synopsis: A long time ago on a far away planet ravaged by magical wars and holographic technology. Two little boys named Gram and Levit were born and orphaned from birth. Cared for by Stine, a mysterious man who would become their only family, they would learn to survive and use their ancestral intelligence inherited from their parents. Motivated by the wonder of life on this unknown planet and their desire to know outer space. Gram and Levit embark on an adventurous journey at the tender age of 12, to gather the pieces to build their own spaceship. However, their personal goal will become more complicated... as apocalyptic mysteries are uncovered, and the great secret of The Hologram state is revealed.
A giant monument engraved with scenes from all over history commemorating the most unlikely events since the formation of earth. However, the weight of history is substantial and now this statue stands in middle of nowhere so as to discourage learning about some of events it depicts. I drew this for a personal puzzle game project. In game each of the carvings on the statue serves as a little puzzle that needs to be untangled and also it helps to explain some of the background info for this strange story I'm making up.
This is one of those paintings where it took quite a few months between when I had the idea and when I started painting. I wasn't sure if I could paint this decently enough and it needed to marinate in the brain for a bit.
Some Cards, Some Blood, Some Kitchen Knives
When given the option to choose between the very most bleeding edge technology or the legacy option, which one would you pick? I suspect to most the obvious choice would be the first one: choose the most up to date and fancy tech you can, it is the best you can get after all. But what if it hasn’t been properly tested? What if no one knows how to repair or even to set it up properly yet, what if it’s hyped up more than it really deserves? On the other hand, you can choose the old, but well tested option. It’s clunky and doesn’t have the twelve different variations of Bluetooth, also where is the style? However, it does have the time tested reliability and if it does break, you might be able to fix it yourself with a butter knife and some duck tape. I painted this to be used as a background in a stage for a game I’m making in my free time.
A little while ago I drew a tiny micro comic about a couple of overworked bio-engineers constructing a monster. And here is said monster. Did I know at the time what sort of monster it will be? No, of course not. I did know that I want to draw the monster, when I do come up with a design, in a style of a diagram or a presentation with description text, analysis and etc. Both the comic and this monster illustration will be used in a game I'm making for funzies. Maybe I can show off a very alpha version of the game "relatively" soon. I do have a decent amount of playable stuff mostly ready. On another note, you should check out a game I already completed. This is is a link to a little puzzle game I made called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
Another one of my little experiments I like to make in my free time. I say little, but it did take me approximately twelve lifetimes to paint and I did leave the idea for this marinate inside of my skull for months because I wasn't sure if I could paint this decently in the first place. I wanted to paint a bunch of people in unusual poses and I wanted to try out the fish eye lens perspective and this was the result. It probably goes without saying that I couldn't really find reference even close to the people in this painting so I tried to pay close attention to general anatomy references and hopefully I didn't go too much into nonsense anatomy this time( I have absentmindedly drawn six fingered hands in the past). The exact poses were largely the result of me wanting to cover all the bits that would make this a nsfw painting, so that was a sort of interesting puzzle to solve.
I've been adding more character customization to a personal game project of mine called Human Upgrade Labs and I think the best way to share some of that is in a form of a gif. Strangely this is not the protagonist of the game, but the the guys you through various tests/minigames that make up the entire game. The game is available here for free: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
A character I painted for a personal game project, partly inspired by the ongoing tax season. Really I'm not having that much trouble with it, but anyone who enjoys paying taxes has to be a sociopath by definition. Try out the game, it's called Human Upgrade Labs. Here is an early, but fully playable version of the game: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
Here's something I drew for a personal game project called Human Upgrade Labs. It's used in a mini game where you have to sort out the separate images into the working gif. There are four of these transformation gifs in all and this is the only one that is cartoony/animeish. I have this whole thing in the game where one country is obsessed with cartoons and emulates the cartoon look in real life using futuristic hand-wavy technologies and this gif is connected to that part of the game. Here is a non-final, but fully playable version of the game for pc: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
Recently I added a map/ gallery to my personal game project Human Upgrade Labs. For the reasons of lore and fun the map is cube shaped, and this is the flattened version of that Cube Earth, as well as a gif of how the map looks in the game currently. In the game this is more or less the base of the map and further details are added as you complete levels and unlock more stuff. Here is the game, it's a puzzle/mini game based game for windows and it completely free ( for now ). Let me know what you think if you give it a try: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs

A little experiment I painted. Probably will use it in my puzzle game in some capacity. Usually in painting it's all about the shading and values( the lightness or darkness of color) so I decided I should try painting something using only one value and see if I can make something using only different hues. Also I tend to use less saturated colors so this time it's as saturated and bright as it can get. If you put this thing in photoshop you literally can't raise the saturation any more and if you turn down the saturation all the way to zero it will be almost a completely same shade of gray all over, no mountain or anything else visible. Here's the link to the game I mentioned. It's free on itch: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
I painted this map last year for LitJoy and I can finally share it. It will be used on their website and because of that this map actually works a little bit different then most. Most of the objects you can see on the map are painted on different layers and are meant to be arranged as needed. This works more like game assets than a single map. Also check out my personal project, I'm actually constructing a map for it right now. It's a scifi themed puzzle game for now available for free on itchio: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
Here's something I drew for a personal game project called Human Upgrade Labs. It's used in a mini game where you have to sort out the separate images into the working gif. I guess this is basically a simple animation, if you had way too few frames. I'm not exactly one to enjoy working on animation, but this was a pretty fun experiment since each of the frames is quite different from each other. Here is an early, but fully playable version of the game: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
Teaching a robot to feel. In a very literal way. By attaching it's hand to a hiving one and trying all sorts of materials on it to teach the robot to distinguish between different types of touch sensation. This started when I was painting a different thing and wasn't happy with how I was unable to paint a mother of pearl texture that well. So I decided it would be a good idea to go back to basics for a moment and study some materials by painting them as realistically as I could from reference. Of course that sort of thing isn't the most exiting idea to work on and tends to get boring quite quickly so I thought making up a scene of some sort that uses a bunch of different materials would be more fun. I was right. I will also likely use this image for a little puzzle section in a game I'm making. Also check out my previous game. This is a link to a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
A map I drew for a client's D&D campaign.
Now what? You find yourself stuck in some forest, with all of your organs stolen and replaced with the cheapest robotic parts possible. You may be a cyborg now, but only by the technical definition. Your limbs move, but barely, and you're pretty sure that if you trip, you won't be able to get back up. This crappy machinery might keep you alive for a couple days max. What to do, what to do? I painted this guy for fun. I wanted to practice some texture painting with the scuffed metal and I wanted to draw a robot guy. Combine those two things in a jar, let them marinate for a bit and you get this. By the way, check out the game I might or might not use this character in - Human Upgrade Labs. It's already available for windows for free. The game is not finished, but even this version has 13 completed levels and I am constructing more of them: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/human-upgrade-labs
Here is a selection of items I painted fro a client last year: a cursed doll, a taxidermy parrot and a wooden mask. Check out the website and the module for DnD that includes these items https://unlimitedrealmsltd.com/
A little something I painted for a client's board game set in Dante's Inferno. This will serve as part of the character board where you place cards, dice etc. Check out the project: https://gamefound.com/projects/top-decker/forsaken-dante-inferno?ref=search Also check out my personal project. I have a desire, no, a need, to draw some robots. So instead of drawing other stuff I was supposed to draw for other game levels, I prioritized drawing this guy instead. Oh, well, this is for a personal game project, so it doesn't matter that much and there are no deadlines, so I can mix stuff around. I plan to have this guy as one of the interactable characters at some point. By the way, a fully playable version of this game - Human Upgrade Labs is already available for windows for free. A few unusual animals I drew for a personal game project, like in the other two earlier uploads. The game is set far in the future where you are able to alter your appearance almost without limit with the help of genetic engineering, android technology and other hand wavy methods. And of course it was only a matter of time until pets would be altered to suit anyone's tastes as well. If you think that wouldn't happen in real life then I encourage you to take a good look at our little friend - the pug.
A few tough animals I drew for a personal game project.
A few fluffy pets I drew for a personal game project.
I needed four faces to represent four categories for a personal game project: bio, robo, mostly bio and mostly robo.
Something I drew for a client's D&D campaign.
A little character I painted for fun and will probably use in a game I'm making. Sometimes gross is beautiful.
A little map I drew for a client, for a book a couple months ago. Unlike most maps I tend to make, this one's from a bird's eye view rather than from a sort of isometric-ish perspective.
Something I drew for fun. I wanted to make some very stylized, almost logo-like designs. Each of these characters has a matching item from a collection I uploaded earlier
Something I drew for fun. I wanted to make some very stylized, almost logo-like designs.
A little environmental piece I made for a personal project. I usually wouldn't bother to, but this time I made a 3d model to use as a reference for the flying saucer, because I wanted to use the model in another part of this game project. The saucer is a fairly simple design, but it still took quite a few iterations until I had something I liked. Also, mayhaps you should check out a project I already completed. This is is a link to a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
Something I painted for fun. I wanted to paint a portrait using more realistic brushes I have in Corel Painter. I haven't gotten used to these brushes completely, but they are quite fun to work with. They really do feel pretty close to physical paint, reminds me of when I used to paint using gouache. Since I wanted a slightly futuristic character, I though it would be fun to include some sort of robotic animal so I chose an ocelot kitten. Why that? Because I remembered that episode of Archer with an ocelot named Babu, or something like that, when I was sketching.
Some environmental assets I painted for a personal project.
Some items I sketched out for a personal project.
There is no better way to wake up than being splashed by a whale floating by your open window. Or so I've been told. This is something I drew for fun. I like to try all sorts of styles and techniques when I work on personal stuff and I felt like drawing using a messier linework this time. Coloring this thing took a whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiile. Also, mayhaps you should check out a project I already completed. This is is a link to a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
A tiny comic I drew about making a monster and unreasonable demands of a troublesome boss. The plan is to use this as an intro for a level in puzzle game I'm making for funzies. I haven't attempted drawing anything resembling a comic page in 8 years or so. And those couple old attempts were too terrible to speak of anyway( they really were, I mean they were impressively shit). Also I wanted to draw something using as good crosshatching as I could. In my opinion crosshatching can look very cool if done well, but it does have one serious drawback. Repeat after me: CROSSHATCHING IS TIME CONSUMING. Yes it is. P. S. The monster itself will be revealed later. On another note, you should check out a game I already completed. This is is a link to a little puzzle game I made called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
Client work. I haven't made many underground maps before. Now that I think of it, have I made any?
The Second map I drew for an upcoming project by Level 99 Games ( www.level99games.com ).
Some random character sketched out for fun. There is this thing where a lot of the time a finished drawing looks less "fluid" or just less good than the quick sketch from which it started. I'm sure some of you can relate. So I was trying to still make fairly loose sketches but add enough detail to make them somewhat presentable. These characters are much closer to how I usually sketch, but I never end up sharing that part of the process. I might use a couple of these for a more finished thing at some point. Or not, who the hell knows
A few months ago I made a drawing with a couple futuristic nonsense motorcycles I 3d modeled for that image. I wasn't entirely happy with the designs and the illustration overall so I decided that I could make a better version. Also I recently bought a 3d printer because I need another hobby to fill the time I don't have and I really wanted to print something I made that's a bit fancier. Because of that I might have gone a bit overboard on how precise and detailed I made the 3d model. I certainly didn't need to do that just to export the lineart for this. Also I intend to use this illustration for a little game I'm making for fun, So why don't you check out a game I already completed. This is is a link to a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
The Shattered Reigns map This is a map I drew fro a book called A Mark of Kings. It's nice to be able to share a map finally. I drew several maps for various clients in previous year, but sadly almost all of them are still under an NDA. Luckily this one exited spoiler territory much quicker because of a successful kickstarter that just ended and included this in it.
A little experiment I painted in my free time. I used to paint in a much more angular style years ago, just because I didn't know any other way at the time, and I wanted to see if I can paint something along those lines now.
Here's a map I drew for a client a couple months ago. I was asked to put a watermark on these for now, but hopefully it doesn't interfere in the viewing experience too much. On another note, I also keep working on personal projects, not just client work. Some arrow designs I made for a client and by coincidence the project I made these for is on Kickstarter now: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/unlimitedrealmsltd/cyrans-magnificent-walking-marketplace Ok, not by coincidence. I am sharing these now because they are no longer in spoiler territory because of said Kickstarter. You got me.
A couple more monsters I painted for a personal project. Also, mayhaps you should check out a project I already completed. This is is a link to a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
I felt like painting some monsters( I guess I would call this a monster) and also I had an idea where I could use a four or five of them in a game I'm making. This is one of them. Also, mayhaps you should check out a game I already completed. This is is a link to a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic

Wolf Huntress, Bookish Barb, Starving Demon, Blob Some characters ideas I sketched out for fun. They have nothing to do with any project, but I might make a full painting or something if I end up liking some character way more than others.
This is a map I drew for a client last year and I'm finally able to share it. I painted this for an online card game. The client asked me to come up with something to display as a victory image and I could draw pretty much any illustrations as long as I had that usage in mind. This is the seventh illustration for this project. Speaking of games, check out my personal game I finished recently. A little something I painted for a personal game project. This would be not the main character( which I haven't designed yet, because priorities), but the second protagonist. Or villain. We'll see. I also started drawing quite a few cloth options for this guy. Fancy coats, stupid hair, a robotic lemur companion, that sorta thing. I wanted to make a sort of mini game where you get to customize your torturer( ahem, scientist in charge"). I will probably share some of those once the game making progresses a bit more. It's turning out to be a surprisingly fun part of the project, especially having in mind that I started making it because I wanted to paint some dumb hairstyles. Speaking of games, check out my personal game I finished already. It's a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
I felt like painting some monsters and also I had an idea where I could use a few of them in a game I'm making. So for one of them I grabbed a reference image from one of those free to use photo sites for reference, changed it up a bit while painting ( definitely because I wanted to and not because I'm not that good at painting people actually similar to the reference) and split it in half with a bunch of sharp teeth. Also, mayhaps you should check out a game I already completed. This is is a link to a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
I was looking forward to sharing this map, it's a bit of a rarer type for my work: a painted map. I made this last year, but it just now came out of an NDA. Also check out my personal projects. This is is a link to a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
Here's another map into the collection. The client asked me not to mention any details about what the map will be used for just yet, but I'm sure you will be able to enjoy the image without that context. On another note, I also keep working on personal projects, not just client work. This is is a link to a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
I've shared parts of this town as separate uploads before, but I wanted to show the whole thing after it has been finally completed. Not at full size of course, you will need to play the game for that. I made this for a personal puzzle game project of mine called Dream Mechanic and it's so close to being finished that I can smell it. I'm adding final touches, all the artwork and coding has been done. I will upload the game very soon, but in the meanwhile, here is the demo version of it: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
I just completed this map for a client and it's the most detailed and complex map I have done.
I drew this for an online card game. The client asked me to come up with something to display as a victory image and I could draw pretty much any illustrations as long as I had that usage in mind. This is the sixth illustration for this project I made so far. Speaking of games, check out my personal game I finished recently. It's a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
I drew this for an online card game. The client asked me to come up with something to display as a victory image and this is one of now several illustrations I drew for the project. This one is quite far removed from the whole card game theme, but I did make a point to make some of the jewel shapes correspond with three of the card types, and the remaining forth is the queen's symbol.
Some buildings and such I painted for a board game, for www.bookofskulls.co.uk
I drew this around a month ago for an online card game. The client asked me to come up with something to display as a victory image and this is the result. Speaking of games, check out my personal game I finished recently. It's a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
He knows too much. It's not healthy for him. This is something I painted for a personal game project. I thinking of including a sort of quiz segment and I needed someone to ask the questions. Check out another game I finished recently. It's a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
Meteors and Crowns I just finished this for an online card game. The client asked me to come up with something to display as a victory image and this is the result. Well, one of the results. I drew two victory images for the same project two years ago and I'm working on a different one as we speak. It's a fun project, I get an almost free reign on the image in terms of what is depicted, on the style etc. Speaking of games, check out my personal game I finished recently. It's a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic available for free for windows here: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
People will start exploring some questionable fashion choices if and when advanced cybernetics and gene modification come into play. And if you think that some of these options are too strange and impractical to actually wear in any conceivable situation then I implore you to take a look into current high fashion situation. It’s a complete circus already, you can literally find people wearing inflatable pools trying to look nonchalant. I recently finished a little puzzle game of mine called Dream Mechanic( available for free for windows here, by the way: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic ) and I wanted to explore some character concepts. I’m not entirely sure if I will end up using this in some manner to expand that game or if I will use it in another game idea I have, but in the meantime it’s fun to play around with some costume designs. So I made a base and drew some designs with the vague theme of futurism in mind.
Motorcycle Dreams. For a personal project.
A little something I drew for a client, for a fantasy webcomic Gaia. I haven't uploaded a map in a while, have I? I actually drew several map since my last upload, but almost all of them happen to be under an NDA still. Except for this one of course.
There is no end to the innovative attractions at the Robot Fair, they have everything you could possibly imagine. You can take a quick ride in a giant robot, you can buy yourself a mecha pet, you can rent a variety of mechanical exoskeletons, you can talk with and be terrified of the cog spitting Giant Face of Robotic Doom or simply admire Punchtleman or Femme Robotica and wonder about why would they even build something like that. Even the advertisements seem less annoying at the Robot Fair. I drew this for a personal project, a little puzzle game. Though about trying out a sort of cell shaded style this time. Check out the game so far on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
The game is complete and available for free on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic So this is one of the illustrations I made for a personal game project called Dream Mechanic. I need a bunch of illustrations that represent various dreams and I try to make each one as distinct as possible. This time I tried to go somewhat minimalistic because that's probably as far as you can get from my usual style and because why not. This dream is a representation of the idea of false vacuum. If you haven't heard of that than I would suggest to look into it a little. It's cool and it's scary and according to it the universe might be unstable like a pebble on top of a hill and might be destroyed at any moment.
In Every Shadow Check out the game so far on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic Something I painted for a personal game project called Dream Mechanic. It's a puzzle game and it needs a bunch of images that represent the dreams of characters and will be turned into puzzles. The dreams can be essentially anything. I had the idea to paint something like this - a room with every shadow full of monsters for months now. I also have a character in the game who's somewhat delusional and refuses to see the obvious, so I thought this idea for the dream would fit in.
Where Distance Doesn't Exist Some environmental artwork I made for a personal game project. Check out the game so far on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
The game is complete and available for free, for windows on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic This is, I believe, the last character from a personal game project of mine called Dream Mechanic that I still haven't shared. The game is full of characters strange in different ways and for this one I wanted to go a bit abstract and geometrical. There is a reason why he looks more like a logo than a living person, but I want to leave those details to be found out in the game itself.
Check out the game so far on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic I painted this for a personal project, a little puzzle game called Dream Mechanic. I took this as an opportunity to test some new brushes. I recently updated my software and it now has some painting brushes that actually feel fairly close to working with real paint, it simulates how the thick brushstrokes look and how the paint mix together quite well. I'm still not sure how useful they will be in my work, but they are fun to work with. I learned to paint in gouache originally, so it's kind of nostalgic.
Something is watching him. He is not entirely sure what exactly, but he knows someone is and he will do his best to protect himself. Admittedly his best isn't much. This is a character I painted for a personal project, a little puzzle game. Check out the game so far on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
This is an illustration I painted for a client. This is from The Pilgrimage, an online serialized fantasy adventure, updating for free at walkthepilgrimage.com
Reactor and Escape Pod. Here are a couple tiles I made for a client's board game.
Check out the game so far on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic Some monsters I painted for a personal game project called Dream Mechanic. Monsters are always fun, they allow for the imagination to run wild and to really goof around when coming up with designs. The only limitation I set for myself while designing these was that they should be body horror abominations of some sort.
This is an illustration I painted for a client last year. This is from The Pilgrimage, an online serialized fantasy adventure, updating for free at walkthepilgrimage.com
Some characters I designed and illustrated for a client, for a game project called Lovecraft: The Musical, a tentacle opera.
Another character for my game Dream Mechanic. Check out the game so far on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
Megalopolis Map I drew this several months ago for Arcane Wonders for a superhero themed board game. This is a big one and it took a good long while to complete, I can tell you that. I wanted to share this months ago, but an NDA is an NDA, so it had to wait a bit. Most maps I make tend to lean towards fantasy and I don't think I have drawn many modern cities before this, so it was a nice challenge as well.
Another, this time extra creepy character I painted for a personal puzzle game project called Dream Mechanic. Check out the game so far on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
Stereogram Dance This is a a painting for a personal game project called Dream Mechanic. For it I need quite a few illustrations that can be made in vastly different styles, so I decided to make that a challenge for myself and experiment with a bunch of different ideas. I wanted to make a painting that largely consists of painted patterns. It will be a quick one I though. How hard can it be, even if I decided to try including some stereogramic patters even though I barely know how those work, I thought. I'm definitely not a dumbass for thinking that I thought.
Techno Migration The robots are on a search for their techno paradise, but it's not an easy journey. This is an illustration for a little game I'm making for fun.
Here's an illustration I painted for a tabletop game earlier this year. With an addition of some overlays it will be used as the game board.
House of Flesh Yes, this is a house, though not a very cozy one. This is once again for a personal game project of mine called Dream Mechanic. Check out the game so far on itch.io: https://ultra-shenanigans.itch.io/dream-mechanic
Crystal Home A little something from a personal game project of mine called Dream Mechanic. The game takes place in a very unusual town for which I need to design quite a few buildings and this is one of them. There are many more examples of artwork from this project in my gallery.
Broken Lands It has been a good long while since I uploaded a map, hasn't it? The thing is, I drew several large maps this year, it's just that most of them happen to still be under an NDA. Hopefully I can share those soon as well. I completed this one only a couple days ago though. Hope you like it.
Phobia Market Once again I have a strange illustration from a little personal game project of mine to share. I don't have any phobias myself ( though some trypophobic images do creep me out at times), but I do find them fascinating. Here we have a few phobias depicted as monsters. Hopefully none of you have any phobias depicted in this.
I painted this for use as a basis for a main menu for a little game I'm making in my free time.
I have been doing some client work for an RPG campaign setting, designing various items. Here are some assorted killing devices from that project.
This is a bit of environmental artwork I made for a personal game project called Dream Mechanic. It's a puzzle game, but it also has a bunch of weird characters living in a very unusual little town and this will serve as a part of that. I have been avoiding normal looking plants for the entire environment to make it more surreal and for some good old fashioned shits and giggles. Coming up with unusual environments has been fun and I have plenty more ideas I want to include.
Clash of the Cranial Ultrabots When they fight sparks fly and every conscious being within 12 parsec radius gets brainwashed. This is an illustration for a little game I'm making for fun called Dream Mechanic.
Is he a man, is he a machine? Is he a ghost or a robot or a spirit of his own future self? No one knows for sure, but one thing we do know is that he has strong opinions about unimportant topics and he will tell you about it in detail. This character is for a little game I'm making for fun.
This another illustration for a personal game project I'm making in my free time. But also this is an exercise in how realistically I can paint a portrait. Usually I paint in a semi- realistic style, I guess, and I don't use specific references for characters, only the general ones for anatomy and such. For max realism this time I needed a picture to work from and since I don't have an old man on hand to annoy about this, I ended up pulling a picture from one of those free to use picture sites for reference.
Some pixel art I made for a client, for a game called ©Lucid Soul.
This another illustration for a personal game project I'm making in my free time. This time a bit body horror themed.
Some underwater pixel art I made for a client, for a game called ©Lucid Soul.
This is a character I painted for a personal game project, I wanted to make this one slightly creepy and disturbing. The game takes place in a town full of people mutated in strange ways and I made up quite a few characters for it by this point.
I painted this for a personal game project, Dream Mechanic. I need a bunch of illustrations for it which will be used to depict various character's dreams and I'm trying to make all those illustrations as different as I can. I don't exactly draw photo realistic characters all the time, but I also rarely venture into the highly exaggerated, cartoony proportions territory, so I thought that would be fun to try out.
Creation of the Solar System. So. This illustration is for that personal game project, Dream Mechanic, I keep rambling about. I needed some sort of drawing to be used as a dream for an astronomer character, and I though a map of the solar system would be cool. I did have that idea some months ago and the concept changed a bit while I had it sitting on my brain. I still wanted to keep some aspects of a map. For example I included the correct number of moons and named the better known ones. Good thing I dropped the idea of including all the moon names, just Saturn has 82 of them( they discovered some more just last year). Also poor Pluto, but I decided to exclude it from the planets, to keep with the times.
I painted this illustration for an upcoming online novel The Pilgrimage by John Holowach.
Goddess Of Light And Dark Illustration I drew for a client.
Tokotna Map. I made this for a client recently. Second map of the year 2020.
This is a character for a game I'm making, a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself. The game is about a town full of people mutated in various strange ways.
Here's a map I just finished for a client. This one focused quite a bit on giant creatures of all sorts.
Geode Moon This is a bit of environmental artwork I made for a personal game project.
This is a piece of artwork I made for a personal game project. This is going to serve as a dream of one of the characters and each of these dream images will be turned into a sort of a puzzle. The idea is to make all the dreams as different as I can. Almost all characters in the game are transformed or mutated in some way and this dream image is for a character who is slowly turning into pixels. I would show the character design, but I haven't drawn her yet, because doing things in order is for wimps, and for people who plan out things better for me. The idea is that this dream is a warped memory of how she started turning into her pixelated version. Also I thought it would be interesting to incorporate some pixel art into a painting.
Basically, I wanted to paint an eeeeevil still life. I do design and paint various items for work on occasion, but it has been years since the last time I painted any sort of still life, much less a still-life from imagination. I did use some reference for skull anatomy and such, but as you can imagine, it's not very easy to come up with samples of alien fetuses and disembodied hands, so this had to be drawn from imagination and not in the traditional still-life manner.
A little cute book I drew for a client. This will be used for menus in the game.
This is a piece of environmental artwork I made for a personal game project, this serves as a small part or a strange town in which the game takes place. It's a secluded town, so people take a DIY approach to house construction and use whatever they have at hand. This house belongs to an inventor of sorts, a tinkerer, hence the wires all over the place.
I need a bunch of illustrations for this game I'm making for funzies, to use as a base to make puzzles from. The way I have it set up, those images can be pretty much anything, so I'm challenging myself to work in a bunch of different styles and subject matters. The last image was literally and figuratively dark, horror themed illustration, so this time I wanted to make something light and chill and also use a bit of a different way of painting, and why not throw in an unusual canvas format into the mix as well.
This is a character for a game I'm making, a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself. The game is about a town full of mutated people and this this one's is slowly turning into a pixelated version of herself.
I have been doing some concept art for a clients game project and one of the things that I had to do was design some animals. Here are a few from a deserty part of the world.
I was commissioned to make three alien world themed maps: this one of the solar system and another two that depict two of the planets in closer detail.
Endless Autumn Map Here's a map I just finished for a client. If you think this didn't take me long because I uploaded another map a few days ago, than you would be wrong. I was working on a couple map commissions at the same time and this one in particular took a fair bit of effort.
This is a piece of artwork I made for a personal game project. This is going to serve as a dream of one of the characters and each of these dream images will be turned into a sort of a puzzle. The idea is to make all the dreams as different as I can. This one is for a character that's meant to be a writer, so I thought it would be cool to incorporate text as a visual element. I didn't want to use generic text, so most of it is random, stream of consciousness nonsense I wrote. It's best not to try reading too much of it, unless you enjoy headaches.
Candle House This is one of the environmental assets I just finished for a personal game project.
I was commissioned to do a few alien world maps and pretty much all the details were up to me. Usually that's not the case, clients have quite a few specifications for maps, so cases like this one are interesting and let me flex my creative muscles a bit. This map started from an idea I had to make an environment shaped by countless meteor impacts.
This is another character from a game I'm making, a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself. The game is about a town full of mutated people. This one has been turned into a rather demonic looking creature, but he is actually quite chill and nice to hang out with.
Return of a Broken Hero People see what they want to see and ignore the rest, this is just how we work. Sometimes this tendency can manifest in extreme ways. If a hero, beloved by all, returns from a dangerous journey, the defeat of whom would seem impossible and would never even be considered, than just for a brief moment people might ignore the terrible truth and celebrate instead. For any onlooker it would be obvious that the hero had died long ago and stayed frozen on his horse only by some miracle or coincidence, but children might be blinded by self deceit together with the rest and run to congratulate and play with the hero, not noticing anything unusual. That is, this might happen for just a brief moment, until reality would become impossible to ignore even with the help of the impressive power of the human mind, and everyone would start realizing the horrid truth. This is a piece of artwork I made for a personal game project.
He likes to sneak in middle of the night and watch you sleep. Maybe bite off a few toes. It's no big deal, no reason to get scared. This is a piece of artwork I made for a personal game project. This is going to serve as a dream of one of the characters and each of these dream images will be turned into a sort of puzzle. The idea is to make all the dreams as different as I can. I use sparaybrushes a little bit in my work, but I usually like to leave some of the brush texture visible. This time I thought it would be cool to try to paint something using almost exclusively basic spray brushes. I tried that a couple years ago,but the result was pretty garbola( technical term). I figured a simple composition would work best in this case, so that I could really focus on the fine textures and details and I kinda missed drawing monsters, so this is what happened. I also finished this surprisingly quickly, took me no more than 5 days.
This is another character from a game I'm making, a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself. The game is about a town full of mutated people and this guy's mutation manifests as skulls. That is, every part of his body is slowly turning into skulls and having a liver in the shape of cow skull can't be healthy. The problem that being a giant Edgy Mc Edge Goth Guy to begin with, he kinda likes it. Also if he spills his coffee, the stain will be in a shape of a skull; If he tears his pants, he will tear it in a shape of a skull etc...
Red Planet I was commissioned to do an alien world map and pretty much all the details were up to me. Usually that's not the case, clients have quite a few specifications for maps, so cases like this one are interesting and let me flex my creative muscles a bit. One of the ideas I had was to draw two different species kinda battling it out on the scale of the entire planet, changing the environment as they go along. So that's what this map is: the species on the left live in huge shielded cities, and the species on the right mostly live underwater, preferring a more rustic approach, where they grow most of their buildings, weapons, etc.
This is another character from a game I'm making, a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself. The game is about a town full of mutated people and this one has it pretty bad. Here entire body has fully transformed into paper.
I have been doing some concept art for a clients game project and one of the things that I had to do was design some animals. Here are a few from a deserty part of the world.
This is a character portrait I made for a client, for a fantasy game project. Once again the design itself was mostly up to me as long as it fit into the story. This character is meant to be a government official ( of some sort or another).
I have been doing some concept art for a clients game project and one of the things that I had to design some animals. The designs were up to me, as long as I stuck with sea theme.
Egyptian Priestess This is a character portrait I made for a client, for a fantasy game project. The design was pretty much up to me as long as it was somewhat Egypt themed and this was one of the ideas I had.
World Of Etria A little map I made for a client recently.
Map of Indines This map was made for: https://www.level99games.com/ Hope you like it.
Neon Skies This is something I painted for a personal game project I'm working on in my spare time called Dream Mechanic. This image will serve as a dream for one of the characters and a sort of puzzle will be made from it to be solved. I decided at the beginning that I want to make this image very colorful and bright. At some point towards the end of painting it the question of whether this was colorful enough arose and to solve that I looked at a mirror. Only my left eye was bleeding and not that much, so clearly it wasn't yet. I continued with my abuse of RGB color pallet.
Tree Elevator This is a piece of environmental artwork I made for a personal game project, this serves as a small part or a strange town in which the game takes place. One of the characters is an inventor/ tinkerer type and he's trying to innovate the town a bit.
This is a game background I made for a client. In the game it will be divided into several layers which are loop-able horizontally to make a parallax effect.
This is a piece of environmental artwork I made for a personal game project, this serves as a small part or a strange town in which the game takes place. I'm trying to design the whole environment in the game without using too many commonly seen plants like normal trees, so I chose to go with brambles and come up with some nonexistent plants.
A while ago I drew a map for a client, than I was commissioned again to draw a zoomed in part of that map and now I made the third part, the even more up close image with the interior showing.
This is a character portrait I made for a client, a fantasy game project. The design was pretty much up to me and one of the ideas I had was to draw a man with a lightning scar on his face. Scars similar to this are actually sometimes left on people who survive lightning strikes and I have been thinking that that would be a cool motive to use for a character for a while.
I have been doing some client work for an RPG campaign setting, designing various items. Here are some electrifying knickknacks for you.
I'm doing some client work for a game project, making all sorts of concept pieces inspired by different civilizations from history. Here is something inspired by Egyptian architecture.
Here are some environmental sprites from a game I'm making(a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself).
This is another character from a game I'm making, a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself. This would me the main character, the one the player takes control of.
A while ago I drew a map for a client. I was commissioned again to draw a larger version of one of the cities from that map and here it is.
In the Sea With All of My Things This is a piece of artwork I made for a personal game project.
I'm doing some client work for a game project, making all sorts of concept pieces inspired by different civilizations from history. Here are some obelisk concepts inspired by Egyptian architecture.
Here's a bit of item art. I made these for a client as a part of a project that needed item and fantasy map artwork.
Paranoia Street
Cursed Portrait Hello my fellow weirdos. So this time, after a long while, I have some pixel art for you. This is some client work from a horror game called Lucid Soul and as you can see this portrait has two versions: a normal one, and a bit more disturbing one. ©Lucid Soul
Great City of Valeska Here's a map I just finished or a client. This one was a fair bit more challenging than most maps I do. A city required more precise designs and more precision when doing the line work than mostly nature based maps, but it was a nice change of pace. I wanted to try drawing a city for a while.
This is a piece of environmental artwork from a game I'm making(a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself).
Egyptian Statues 2 I'm doing some client work for a game project, making all sorts of concept pieces inspired by different civilizations from history. Here are a couple statue concepts inspired by Egypt.
This is another piece of environmental artwork from a game I'm making(a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself). Every character in the game will have a "house" of some sort, this is one of those.
I'm doing some client work for a game project, making all sorts of concept art pieces inspired by different civilizations from history. Currently I'm working on some Egypt inspired environmental concepts, so here are a couple murals.
Some item artwork I made for a client
I'm doing some client work for a game project, making all sorts of concept pieces inspired by different civilizations from history. Here are a couple statue concepts, care to guess by which civilization they were inspired?
This is a character from a game I'm making, a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself. Almost all characters in the game are mutated in some manner and I decided that I wanted one character to be basically made from plants. So this is the result.
This is another character from a game I'm making, a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself. The idea here was to have character who decided to get cyborgized and decided to keep his face looking as it did before. You know, for sentimental purposes.
The Fabled Cloud Man This is another character from a game I'm making, a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself. In the game there are no normal humans, it's about a town where everyone is transformed in one way or another and this is one of those weirdos.
A character I designed and painted for a client, inspired mostly by Aztec civilization.
I'm doing some client work for a game project, designing and illustrating various things. Here are some castle concepts from it.
I'm doing some client work for a game project, designing and illustrating various things. Here are some cathedral concepts from it.
Here is another map I made for a client. Working on this one was a bit different than normal. Usually the clients have some sort of cities or points of interest they want to include, but in this case all that was up to me to make up. I did have to keep it fairly down to earth( another sketch had flying lakes and stuff), but still.
Recently I have been doing some concept art for a clients game project and one of the things that I had to design was a few animals. I had to have a feathered jaguar-like animal, like you can see in the middle here and the other ones were mostly up to me. Also I needed to draw stylized icons for each animal, so that's what those drawings at the bottom are.
This is another piece of environmental artwork from a game I'm making(a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself). Every character in the game will have a "house" of some sort and this is one of those.
This is another piece of environmental artwork from a game I'm making(a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself).
This is another piece of environmental artwork from a game I'm making(a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself). This is a temple for a small cult/ religion that is all about sound and music.
This is a character from a game I started making, a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself. I needed a character that would be a priest of a small cult/religion thing that is all about music and this is what I came up with.
I have been doing some client work for an RPG campaign setting again, here are some masks/ helmets I made for the project.
Here is another map I made for a client.
Here's a background for a card game I made for a client.
Bramble House This is another environmental asset from a game I'm making for fun
Soooooo, I am making a game ( personal project for once), and this is the first major environmental asset I painted for it. The game is happening in a small strange town and a lot of it is about exploring the town, many objects will be interactable in one way or another.
Girl and Her Favorite Toy
Some pixel art I made for a game called Lucid Soul.
On The Topic Of Creepy I have been fascinated with creepy and horror themed stuff for quite a while. The problem is that by having the exposure to the insanity that the internet contains and my own often weird imagination, I have become desensitized to creepiness through what some people might call exposure therapy. Very few things scare of creep me out with possible exceptions of things like a Sea Lamprey's mouth or stuff you see if you google the word trypophobia( I strongly advise not to google either of these things, but we all know that telling someone not to look at something will only make them want to look at it. I warned you). So I wanted to draw something creepy. I started with a pretty normal looking girl on the top of the stairs and drew four more versions of her, trying to make each one weirder and more "off" until the last grotesque version.
I'm doing some client work for a game project, designing stuff and drawing other stuff. Here are some house concepts from it.
This is a character from a game I started making, a personal project where I make absolutely everything myself. I only started on it, only the basics are there, but I can finally start with some artwork, unlike my two first attempts at making games, this one will involve a lot of it. In the game the environment and the characters themselves are being transformed in various ways due to dreams becoming real and effecting them in different ways. This character in particular is a bit of a hoarder and refuses to leave her home for any amount of time because she is afraid of leaving her stuff.
Map of Tempris
So I'm working on a fairly large game project for a client which involves conceptualizing and drawing all sorts of things. Here are the banners I designed for a society called Valen in the story. From left to right the banners represent the rulers, the knights, the clergy and guards.
Dog Walker Well only one of those animals is technically a dog, but it's the best kind of dog so I think that counts for something. I just drew this little thing for fun. It's a good way to practice my linework, drawing animals and mechanical design at the same time.
Sky Serpents This is a little drawing I made in my spare time for funzies and giggles.
All of the Colors A map I painted for a client. Heroes & Gods: The Master of Dreams https://www.heroesandgods.net
God damn this took a lot of work, but I'm quite happy with the result. I made this map for a client and it will be used in a computer game. I had to draw it at a really high resolution, so there was a lot of small detail work involved.
Lockmouth isn't happy, his cyber-surgeon messed up another operation and this one was meant to fix a previous mess up. There's a lesson for you, kids: get stuff like this done by professionals, not by suspicious people wandering around with scalpels. Knitting helps him to relax and there will be a yarn shortage if things continue like this. Lockmouth's friend Sweethtooth doesn't' sleep much. Spiders keep crawling into his mouth.
So I have been practicing drawing and designing characters recently in my spare time and this is a personal painting as well. I don't know, drawing an overly fancily dressed woman with a couple pet monkeys sounded like a good time to me. Also if you unfolded that umbrella it would be of a size appropriate for the beach, but you can't argue with accessorizing.
So a while ago I uploaded a few tiles I made for a board game called Dead Throne. Here is another one, probably the last one I will upload since the remaining ones are fairly visually similar and only have different layouts. This and over 20 others are used as game boards and can be arranged in any manner you like during the game to create different play fields. These are huge god damn boards and the play field can become absurd in size, which I of course enjoy a lot.

You might say that the work voyeur isn't the most suitable description for a man whose favorite thing to do is to stare at space through a large telescope, but you might change your opinion if you knew with what passion he does his thing. At the moment he's observing some rather unusual meteors, but you might catch him examining all sorts of things, as long as they're in space. That's the important bit. So I have been practicing drawing and designing characters recently in my spare time and this is a personal painting as well. One reason is because characters inevitably come up in games and I have been trying to make simple games for fun. Here is my second attempt, a game I just recently published on google play(it's a game for android phones). Check it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.AugustinasRaginskis.RankUpgrade
Children Entrancement This is an illustration I recently did for a client which will be used in a horror game. Basically in this scene children are lured away from their homes by the bad guys. Using a fancy horse drawn carriage among other things. ©Lucid Soul
Some work I did for a game called Lucid Soul. This is based on a concept I made a few months ago and several evil characters will put in and on top of this carriage in the game.
Grayloch Swamp
So a while ago I uploaded a couple tiles I made for a board game called Dead Throne. Since then I made a bunch more and can only start uploading some of those only now because of several boring reasons( awesome vacation and such). This and over 20 others are used as game boards and can be arranged in any manner you like during the game to create different play fields. These are huge god damn boards and the play field can become absurd in size, which I of course enjoy a lot.
Deep Disappointment Have you ever been so disappointed and frustrated with a project that you would just rather blow everything up and start over? I have, I threw away many a work in progress over the years. I'm sure my neighbors are glad I have no easy access to high explosives. So about what failed invention is this particular inventor so disappointed about? Well it's hard to say exactly, the notes are filled with stuff about cold fusion and the perfect blueberry pancake recipe. I'm sure we can all agree that either one of those would have been a great improvement to the overall quality of life of the whole humanity.
I have been focusing more on environmental art in my actual work and such and I want to get better at characters, that would be really neat. So this is just something I drew for fun. I started by asking myself a deep philosophical question: if there was a guy who could punch you through a tank, how would he look? And this is what happened.
This is an illustration I recently did for a client which will be used in a horror game. Some of the characters in the game live underwater and this is a little scene depicting some of that. ©Lucid Soul
Rank Upgrade ( I made a game!) I have been mentioning from time to time that I was working on another game for Android phones and it is finished! It's called Rank Upgrade, it's completely free( at least for now anyway) and you should give it a try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.AugustinasRaginskis.RankUpgrade I made this little image to use on the google play store. I won't talk a lot about the game here, because you should really stop reading here and just download the game, except to say that in it you kill hoards of strange robot enemies using your rocket sword in order to reach progressively more absurd ranks. Let me know what you think if you try it out, maybe leave a comment and a ranking. That would really help me out.
It dawned on me that I haven't drawn any spaceships in like years, and the ones I did draw back when were absolute garbage, so this seemed like a nice change of pace.
So this is another map I just finished. This is for a client's LitRPG book series. Often there is a lot of water and such in the map which requires much less detail and time and this time I didn't have a lot of that and the map took quite a while to make.
Some work I did for a game called Lucid Soul. It's a horror themed game, as you might guess from the name and the subject matter. This one had to be drawn in an unusual perspective, I haven't worked with that particular kind before. ©Lucid Soul
I'm making a little game for Android( personal project), and these are some of the assets I just finished for it. A lot of the game is about upgrading the character and the weapon, and these are the first nine character versions. And this is only the start. There are over 20 character upgrades overall and I have the rest all sketched out and already incorporated in the game as temporary assets. It gets pretty ridiculous.
Victory Planet So this is an illustration I made for an online card game. The client asked me to come up with something to display as a victory image and this is the result.
New illustration, right of the press! I just finished this for an online card game. The client asked me to come up with something to display as a victory image and this is the result.
Gore Pit Some work I did for a game called Lucid Soul. It's a horror themed game, as you might guess from the name and the subject matter. ©Lucid Soul
So here's another map I just completed for a client. I enjoy making these map illustration, but they take a huge amount of time to complete compared to pretty much any other type of commission I do.
I'm making a little game for Android( personal project), and these are the enemies. I have been working on this for a while now, sketching everything out and coding all the mechanics and it's finally ready to start getting some actual art.
Throne Room of Horrors A piece of concept art I painted a few weeks back for a game Called Lucid Soul. It's a horror game, if it's not obvious from this image.
Stairway to the Starts - making a game I'm making a little game for Android( personal project), and this is a background from the game. I have been working on this for a while now, sketching everything out and programming all the mechanics and it's finally ready to start getting some actual art.
A couple card illustrations from the game Ghost Hunter: Angels & Demons I recently worked on.
These are some of the items from a little game I made for Android phones called Collection Perfection
This is one of several simple background illustrations I was commissioned to do for a browser game about learning Japanese. Anyone who has ever touched a game controller or a keyboard button knows instinctively that educational games are boring to the point of causing self harm, but hopefully my work will help to minimize the horrible experience of trying to learn a new language.
So this is one of the game boards for a game called Dead Throne. Just finished this one a few days ago and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out(damn it took a lot of time to make). Some objects on the board are much bigger than they actually would be compared to each other, because they need to be clearly visible for gameplay purposes.
Here is some pixel art I did for a client like a year ago and forgot to upload it somehow. It's a small game, but while working on it I did a little bit of everything like you can see here: characters, background tiles, items.
This is another little map I completed recently for a client's book. The continent at the top right is separated because in the story it's a magical land not accessible by regular means( you need dem portals).
This is some pixel art I recently completed for a game called Lucid Soul. I already shared just the dragon gate you can see at the bottom of the image and now the full tower that goes with it is complete. This took me quite a while to do, most of this works like a painting, in that there aren't that many repeatable parts and almost the whole tower had to be drawn without reusing tiles. The perspective is a bit unusual because the tower is more than one screen tall in the game and it will create the illusion of characters looking up by raising the view.
This is from a tabletop game I worked on recently for a client called Dungeon Forge. An interesting project, I was able to come up with all sorts of designs for the items such as these strange things.
These are a couple unusual items from my a little game I made for Android phones called Collection Perfection. It's completely free and you would be doing a disservice to yourself by not checking it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.AR.Collection Anyway, it's a little game about collecting strange treasures abandoned in an old labyrinthine tower by long dead weirdos. These are two of 15 treasures and you can find out more about it if you complete the level in which they are located. Though honestly I doubt many people can get to it. The game starts easy, but it gets hard quickly and the the ring is found in the later levels. I did everything for the game including the programming, but despite that it works. No phones have cough fire yet.
I have some fresh pixel art for you, straight of the press. This is a castle entrance I did recently for a horror game called Lucid Soul( the logo at the bottom was also designed by me by the way).
So I finally got around to uploading some of the titles and logos I made for various clients. I should have done this months ago, but the laziness was too overpowering to get them in one place. Most of this stuff I did this year, I thing. Though a few are older, didn't seem they would work very well if I uploaded them one at a time.
Librarian So I would like to be better at painting characters and this is a bit of practice. For once I drew something just because and not for work or some bigger project I was working on, a much needed change of pace.
A little more pixel art for y'all. Once again this is from the game called Arelite Core I worked on and these are some architectural pieces I designed for it.
These are some of the background sprites from a game I made for Android phones and if you haven't seen it, here is a link to it. It's completely free and you would be doing a disservice to yourself by not checking it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.AR.Collection It's a little game about collecting strange treasures abandoned in an old labyrinthine tower by long dead weirdos. There are 15 treasures and you can find them and encounter these creepy objects the while wondering through the game as well. All 15 treasures are very different from each other, but all of them are strange in some way. Though honestly I doubt many people can get all of them. The game starts easy, but it gets hard quickly. I did everything for the game including the programming, but despite that it works. No phones have cough fire yet.
Recently I have been working on some items for RPG campaign setting for a client. I like to upload the items according to some sort of a theme, but that doesn't always work out since I have quite a few unusual items which refuse to be organized. On the left we have a throwing dart, in the middle greaves with slots for potions and on the right a food themed banner.
This is from a tabletop game I worked on recently for a client called Dungeon Forge. An interesting project, I was able to come up with all sorts of designs for the items such as these fancy things.
This is a map that will be used for a game board I made for a client about a month ago. There are many elements in it and it wasn't the easiest thing to work on, but in the end I think it worked out quite well.
Lighthouse I realized I haven't uploaded any pixel art in a while, so here is some. Once again this is from the game called Arelite Core I worked on and these are some of the assets that are used in the game.

Cage of the Breathless This cage with a goofy little ghost stuck in it is from a game I made for Android phones and if you haven't seen it, here is a link to it. People, I have a big announcement to make: my first game is complete. It's called Collection Perfection, I just uploaded it to the app store and you can give it a try if you have an android phone right now: play.google.com/store/apps/det… It's free and when I say free, I mean free. No ads, nothing. Try it now, Do it! You know you are curious to see what weird stuff I came up with. Anyway, it's a little game about collecting strange treasures abandoned in an old labyrinthine tower by long dead weirdos. Recently I have been working on some items for RPG campaign setting for a client. Here we have two finger blades and a fancy and gauntlet full of sharpened bits I made for the project.
Recently I have been working on some items for RPG campaign setting for a client. These are some musical items I made for the project.

Recently I have been working on some items for RPG campaign setting for a client. These are some pieces of head gear I made for the project.
A logo I made for a client. Well, if you can call something as detailed as this a logo, I am not even sure. It will be used as one, whatever you might call it though.
Last Supper Gluttony This is an illustration I recently did for a client which will be used in a horror game. It is, quite obviously, based on the last supper painting except that there is nothing holly about this dinner and the guy in the middle is the boss of the game. The game has many influences and there are a lot of creepy elements, which is right up my alley. I won't say more, the game is still in development. ©Lucid Soul
This is map for World of Veles for an upcoming board game called Dead Throne I finished a couple weeks ago.
Recently I have been working on some items for RPG campaign setting for a client. These are some of the weapons I made for the project.
This is one of six maps I recently made for Cloak & Coin Roleplaying game for Red Turban Press. The main one depicts an ancient ruined city overgrown with jungle and this is one of four maps( or building plans or how you want to call it) that depicts key buildings in more detail.

Hanoid Map This is the second map I illustrated for a fantasy book series, the first one depicting the whole world and this one a smaller region in much greater detail. Of course here I can only display a smaller version of the map, but the full version is quite huge as it will be used as a poster for promotional purposes and a simplified version of this will be used in the books themselves. This was much more work than the first map, because this one contained much more land and therefore much, much more line work and shading to do, I was really kinda surprised myself how much of it there was. Well, it's my own fault, I sketched the thing and decided how detailed it should be in the first place.
Warmheart Crest The fifth and final family crest I did for the Pentamerous book project.

A few more background pieces from my little-personal-puzzle-y-android-game-goofy-treasure-hunt-thingy I'm working on. It is happening and these adorable plants will decorate some of the levels.
A little more pixel art for y'all. Once again this is from the game called Arelite Core I worked on for few months and these are some of the assets that are used in the games overworld- basically the map. http://www.arelitecore.com/
Once again, after a fairly long pause, I give you monsters. These are some of the updates to the monster collection I designed and painted for a project I originally worked on around two years ago. Top left - ice dragon Top right - fire dragon Bottom left - storm dragon Bottom right - ancient dragon Commisioned by furvilla.com
Young vs Old Old technology battling out versus new, who would win? Well, the new stuff most likely, but in the realm of fantasy anything can happen and it's fun to imagine. And there is that weird cliche of ancient super weapons that are actually way more powerful than anything modern, which gets used again and again in movies and books, which I never understood. The most powerful weapon a few thousand years ago was probably some dull bronze sword and just try battling a tank with that. Actually that might be quite an amusing, if short fight. Anyways, I just felt like painting some robots, which I haven't done in a while and I played around with some new brushes at the same time as well. This is available in various print forms at: http://www.redbubble.com/people/augustinas/works/22374107-young-vs-old
Sooooo, another map I did for a client. Maps are quite enjoyable to work on, at least to me. Once I get the layout and the planning down, it's mostly relaxing line work. I burn through so many podcasts when I do commissions like these.
So here is a little something from a personal project of mine, some of the environmental assets that will be used in a tiny Android puzzle game about collecting goofy treasures I'm making. I mentioned the game a time or two before, but didn't wan't to talk too much about it because I wasn't sure at all if I could figure out how to make a game by myself at all, even a very simple one, it's basically just an experiment to see if I can. But now stuff has progressed, most of the levels are finished, stuff is being worked out and the stuff is working and I figured out a bit more about how to program the bastard to working condition so it's time to share a bit more.
These are some of the new updates to the monster collection I designed and painted for a project I originally worked on around two years ago. I think the game now has around 80 of my monsters of various shapes and sizes. Most creatures had one theme to them, like flying monsters or sea monsters, these ones are a bit more complex, like a combination of themes. For example the bat in the middle is both flying and lightning. Commisioned by furvilla.com
Time for a little more pixel art. This is one of the first assets I made for a retro rpg called Arelite Core probably around two years ago at this point. The NDA ended only recently. They are annoying, but necessary. www.arelitecore.com/

The Cottage This is one of several simple background illustrations I was commissioned to do for a browser game about learning Japanese. Anyone who has ever touched a game controller or a keyboard button knows instinctively that educational games are boring to the point of inducing floor punching, but hopefully my work will help to minimize the worst pain imaginable of trying to learn a new language.
This is from a tabletop game I worked on recently called Dungeon Forge. It's still in development, but the client didn't mind me sharing some of that work, as long as the logo is there. An interesting project, I was able to come up with all sorts of designs for the items such as these.

The Shed This is one of several simple background illustrations I was commissioned to do for a browser game about learning Japanese. Anyone who has ever touched a game controller or a keyboard button knows instinctively that educational games are boring to the point of defeating the whole purpose of making a game at times, but hopefully my work will help to minimize the pain and horror of trying to learn a new language.
Pixel Patterns So I mentioned before that I did a lot of pixel work for a retro rpg called Arelite Core over a span of a year or so and here are some of the repeating textures from that project. All of these are partial, the game system mostly used sets of 9 repeating tiles, 8 of which repeated in one direction and the remaining main tile repeated in all directions. These are some of those main tiles. I learned a lot from this actually, something always came up where I had to really rack my brain( I worked mostly from text description) and figure out how this would work after I thought multiple times that I figured out everything about the system.

Time Assassins They hate time so much, they came to kill it. For once not a client work. I wanted to do some character practice, so this is what happened. Not the weirdest thing I did I guess. These characters are also available on T-shirts and other cool stuff. Check that out NOW damn it!! http://www.redbubble.com/people/augustinas

I did a lot of pixel work for a retro rpg called Arelite Core over a span of a year or so, last ones being done several months ago. Most of them are repeating textures, smaller items and similar assets, but from time to time I had to do a bit larger assets like this one, which I enjoyed quite a lot. None of the head ache of making sure everything is seamlessly repeatable and takes less time than the same number of tiles in separate objects. This sort of work was probably the most relaxing from all the different assets I made for this project.
This is one of several simple background illustrations I was commissioned to do for a browser game about learning Japanese. Anyone who has ever touched a game controller or a keyboard button knows instinctively that educational games are boring to the point of being worse than not playing any games at all and just staring at static on the monitor, but hopefully my work will help to minimize the unbearable horror of trying to learn a new language.

An interesting project, I was able to come up with all sorts of designs for the items such as these strange things. This is one of several simple background illustrations I was commissioned to do for a browser game about learning Japanese. Anyone who has ever touched a game controller or a keyboard button knows instinctively that educational games are boring to the point of being classified as psychological warfare and have arguably caused cases of shell shock, but hopefully my work will help to minimize the crushing, mind bending horror of trying to learn a new language.
I checked and it appears that I have the permission to upload work from this project sooner than I thought. I did a lot of pixel work for a retro rpg called Arelite Core over a span of a year or so, last ones being done several months ago. I have a lot of assets to pick from so this time I decided to sort them by subject matter. Starting with miscellaneous, just because it usually is last and I don't care for doing things in an orderly regular manner. Most of the work was various textures for nature and architecture, so these items are in the minority and really are miscellaneous, a couple picked from most levels in the game. http://www.arelitecore.com/
Aha!! You thought I wasn't doing pixel art anymore, but you were wrong! These are from a client work I did a few months ago. The assets I was doing were quite random and not grouped in any coherent manner, so I decided not to try to separate them by theme or such, because it would be largely be useless. There's potions and there's some monsters, but mostly it's weapons and armor. I always enjoy designing and drawing that sort of stuff. Would share more pixel artwork of which I actually have quite a lot, a couple thousand tiles just waiting actually, but most of it is still under an NDA, so it will have to wait a bit longer.
Suddenly it Turns Out I Drew a Unicorn Toy Once Because I did some work on a children's book for a client some time ago, that's why. Drawing horror and cute stuffed animals, if that's not a wide range, I don't know what is.
This is one of several simple background illustrations I was commissioned to do for a browser game about learning Japanese. Anyone who has ever touched a game controller or a keyboard button knows instinctively that educational games are boring to the point of being considered as a war crime in some countries, but hopefully my work will help to minimize the crushing, mind altering horror of trying to learn a new language. Despite being an anime and manga fanboy, I never actually drew any dojos, or ninjas or other stereotypical Japanese stuff, so that's something.
This one's a bit older, has some age to it, like a fine wine. I drew this a few months ago, close to a year possibly, but not all stuff can be uploaded straight to portfolio land the second I complete it due to various circumstances and I wanted to share some more of my background work. This is one of several simple background illustrations I was commissioned to do for a browser game about learning Japanese. Anyone who has ever touched a game controller or a keyboard button knows instinctively that educational games are boring to the point of being classified as evil, but hopefully my work will help to minimize the crushing, mind bending horror of trying to learn a new language.
This smaller and black & white version of the Hanoid map will be used in the book itself while the larger one will be printed as a poster.
Wind Temple An illustration I did recently for an album cover. This is only my second time illustrating for music, but in both cases the descriptions were very lax on what should be depicted and that gave me a lot of freedom. Which I, of course, enjoy a lot.
Here are some symbols representing fictional religions and various gods I designed and illustrated for Cloak & Coin Roleplaying game for Red Turban Press. Some of them are inspired by old timy Egyptian art, some by traditional Japanese crests and a couple of them are based on nothing and just have to look cool.
Here we have a super old and super huge tower, so overgrown with plant life that it's half building, half tree by this point. Ok, maybe, 51 percent building and 49 percent tree. A little something from a personal project of mine. I don't want to talk too much about it because it's something I haven't done before and I don't even know for sure that I will be able to complete it, but I have been working on it little by little for a few months now and stuffs happening, things are being made, so possibly more artwork will follow. I'm just going to tell that I had to start learning some programing after a 10 year gap since the last time I coded anything and surprisingly it's pretty interesting.
Here are a few crests I designed and illustrated for Cloak & Coin Roleplaying game for Red Turban Press. They will be used as symbols representing the bankers, weapon makers, merchants and so on. There is a bit more to each guild than a single straightforward function, but that's the basic idea.
Here are a few items I illustrated for for Cloak & Coin Roleplaying game for Red Turban Press. Recently I have been getting more commissions which involve designing and illustrating various items, which I enjoy a lot. About a year ago I came into some job postings where I needed examples of similar artwork to this, but unfortunately I didn't have that many and didn't get those jobs. So I started to work on more item illustrations during my spare time. Since then I started receiving these sorts of commissions and it's really nice that my extra effort seems to be paying off.
Here are the remaining card illustrations I made for the game Kipple.
Trash Kipple Here are some more of the illustrations I made for a card game called Kipple. It's about constructing new creatures from discarded biological, mechanical parts and re-purposed trash. Each creature consists of a head, torso and legs and any of the cards can be connected with any other two as long as all three parts are there, so there are a lot of possibilities.
I made this illustration a couple weeks ago for an album cover. This is actually the second version of it. I was requested a car driving to the moon on a line road and was supposed to fill in the details however I liked, but I didn't realize just how Chill the music which goes with the cover was and the first sketch was much more colorful, full of shiny nonsense and overall 80's as hell. Needless to say, I had to town it down a bit. I also designed the look of the car and instead of a car brand's logo, the symbol on the rear of the car is the musician's logo.
Some more illustrations for the card game Genies of Abyssinia, this time a lot of smaller simpler illustrations, almost sketches. It's always a good change of pace to change styles a bit as I usually paint instead of drawing and make detailed time consuming illustrations. Zoom in to see all the details, there are 60 small illustrations in one image.
This is an illustration I did for a children's book maybe a year ago. I was hesitant to upload this as the book isn't finished yet, but it seems this project will be discontinued. I did enjoy the project, it gave me an opportunity to work on detailed, but rather more stylized artwork than I do most of the time( also quite a bit less gory and horror-y than I often do).
I made this for a computer card game project a few months ago. I haven't worked on that many UI designs before so this was good practice as well. The book is there to contain the digital card collection and each pages has info and images of certain types of cards. I had the freedom of how I wanted to make this and in the end I decided to draw everything instead of using vectors as these screens won't need resizing.
Resurrectionists Game Board Another one of the never ending board/ card game illustrations I work on. In this case I illustrated a game board for a game about digging up corpses in a cemetery, so in other words, my kind of game. The game uses four identical boards which can be connected in different ways and in all of them the paths have to align. I have worked on many a repeatable pattern, so you would think this would be easy, but the size of the board made the tiniest misalignment look bigger. Well, it worked out in the end and I managed to make those bastards line up properly anyway, so all is good with the world.
I was commissioned to illustrate some items for some sort of online role playing game or something, I am not entirely sure how it works, but here are some of those illustrations. I uploaded other items according to a theme and these are the leftovers, so to speak, which I couldn't classify very well, so here you go. Let's call it miscellaneous. The book on the left has some sort of function connected to the dead, the one at the bottom let's the player reverse a choice, the one on the right enhances vision in some manner and I really couldn't tell you exactly what the jewel in the middle does, all I know is that it had to be shiny and jewel-y( it's a complicated game, give me some slack).
I was commissioned to illustrate some items for some sort of online role playing game or something, I am not entirely sure how it works, but here are some of those illustrations. The left potion is just a dye used to change the color of specific items, the middle one is for sweet sweet poisoning, and the right one is a good old classic health potion.
I was commissioned to illustrate some items for some sort of online role playing game or something, I am not entirely sure how it works, but here are some of those illustrations. The two items in the middle are phoenix feathers, they are used for resurrection and the other two have similar functions.
It's All About Dat Meat I was commissioned to illustrate some items for some sort of online role playing game or something, I am not entirely sure how it works, but here are some of those illustrations. These work as healing items in the style of old video games where meat found in walls is really good for you for some reason. Now that I think about it, I don't remember ever drawing meat before. Blood and guts - yes, but not meat. It's a strangely simple thing that managed to stay on the list of things I haven't drawn before for so long.
Tree of Life Tree of Death An illustration I did recently for a board game. It illustrates the magic system used in the game which is heavily based in mythology which meant that I got to design and draw eleven little angels and ten little demons. They also all have really funky names. I usually paint for client work as opposed to drawing, so this was a nice change of pace.
Mech Kipple These are some of the illustrations I made for a card game called Kipple. It's about constructing new creatures from discarded biological, mechanical parts and re-purposed trash. Each creature consists of a head, torso and legs and any of the cards can be connected with any other two as long as all three parts are there, so there are a lot of possibilities.
Rookhaven Crest The forth family crest I did for the same book project, only one left after this one.
These are some of the illustrations I made for a card game called Kipple. It's about constructing new creatures from discarded biological, mechanical parts and re-purposed trash. Each creature consists of a head, torso and legs and any of the cards can be connected with any other two as long as all three parts are there, so there are a lot of possibilities. There are a lot of cards in this game plus the box art, so instead of uploading the whole thing at once, I will be dividing it into at least 4 parts, with this one being the first. It was an interesting project, I got to paint a bit more loosely that I normally would due to the subject matter.
A simple card game I illustrated recently. The game is about poisoning people and not getting discovered before everyone dies. Delightful. Three of the drinks are just regular drinks and one is the poison, guess which? Hint: it's the bright green one with the skulls in it. The card on the left is the card back and the one on the right depicts the incognito poisoner supreme himself.
I made these three item illustrations a few months ago for a client's book projects. I wont go into detail about what these items do in the story as that might be spoilers, but all three of these items are called bardstones despite their very different look. You might be able to figure out what they do based on the name anyway.
Ghost Factory – a place where old bones, parts of viscera, pieces of dry skin, an occasional lost wisdom tooth and other remains are cut up, processed, mushed together, filtered into components, mushed together again and molded into mas produced ghosts to terrify children in their sleep. Is it a bit gory and gross? Perhaps. But it is also beautifully efficient and you have to appreciate that at least.
Ghost Hunter: Spirits So this is the forth deck I illustrated for the Ghost Hunter series. Well, it's actually the first. I came into this project beginning with the second deck after the first was illustrated by someone else( it wasn't very good) and the time has finally come to redraw this first/forth deck to match the other three I had done. This is only about half of the cards, I will upload the rest at a later point.
This is a map I recently made for a book project. I don't know too much about the story, but the map depicts a city in Norway some time in the future, hence the large circular buildings at the top, area being surrounded by snow and so on. This is only the third map I worked on and all three were very different, so it's interesting to challenge myself in the kind of projects that are quite new for me.
Asylum A fairly simple background illustration I did for a client a few weeks ago. This serves as a test background in early stages of game production. Strangely enough I have some real life reference of an asylum, as one of my art school buildings was a repurposed asylum( at least they told us it was repurposed). That building was crappy as hell, but where else could you throw paint at the walls, and no one would care? It had it's advantages.
Candy Temples Just wanted to draw some weird, really bright houses, so this is what happened. Also occasionally I do some sculpting/ messing around with dangerous tools, the results of which are rarely seen online( mostly because I can't be bothered to photograph the things a lot of the time) and I decided that I want to make one of these fancy houses into a sculpture. So the one on the right, the biggest one is under construction and I will share it at a later point in time if it turns out well.
Guide's Crest Another crest, quite self explanatory if you saw other stuff I uploaded from the same book project.
Champion's Crest A few months ago I designed and illustrated a few crests for a fantasy book project, this is one of them. This has been quite an interesting part of the project, similar to designing logos, but much more enjoyable, because I can get ridiculous with amount of detail and ornamentation and not worry about streamlined minimalism and all that nonsense that a lot of graphic design demands. Not to mention fonts. Choosing fonts kinda sucks.
Some of the card illustrations I created for the game Genies of Abyssinia.
This is an illustration I for a children's book, which is probably quite obvious from the excessive sweetness of the whole thing. If I remember correctly, I also was working on some monsters with their guts out for another project on the same day I finished this. I also sometimes inadvertently make the characters in these children's book illustrations look evil and don't notice before having that pointed out to me. I wonder if these two things have anything to do with each other?
Here is a little promotional image I made for the card game Ghost Hunter: Witches towards the end of last year. It was used for the Kickstarter campaign and such.
Line Girls So here is another little experiment. This one was fairly quick to make, but still, if I got used to this style I could probably make it four times as fast as I did, as I definitely took not the fastest way of doing things. First I drew the faces in three shades of grey, then I covered the middle and darkest shade in vertical lines( I had to do a lot of erasing and going carefully over every line, because the base drawing wasn't precise enough so that I could just select what I needed and fill it in with a nice clean pattern). After that I did the same with the darkest shade of grey and horizontal lines and played with color variants for probably half an hour line a real pleb. Still, this is rather minimalistic, so it was the fastest of the experiments so far. This is available on t shirts, phone cases and can probably be printed on your dog as well if you really wanted to at: http://www.redbubble.com/people/augustinas/works/22194668-line-girls?ref=recent-owner
I wanted to practice some more on my drawing and the last items I drew had very precise linework so this time I decided to go much looser and imprecise and see what happens. Like mentioned before, I am attempting here to try out different styles and designs. During my work I can't always change up the styles that much so what better time to do that than on my own drawings I do for practice and fun. I have a feeling more experiments will continue to happen, I'm having fun trying to come up with different styles.
I made this for a computer card game project a couple months ago. I haven't worked on that many UI designs before so this was good practice as well. Before starting I wasn't sure whether I should go with vectors or just draw everything really precisely by hand in good old raster, but eventually I decided to just draw it and it seams to have worked out. Of course there are some extra button effects and details that go together with this, but those look quite boring as just an image and not a part of a functioning game so I left those out.
Cute Axe, Adorable Mallet Another experiment. I was really feeling like doing some more item designs and what is better than a huge metal bunny at the end of a pole heading at your face at high velocity? Pretty much nothing, that's what, except maybe decapitating someone with an axe that looks like it was designed by an insane toy maker who has a strange obsession with butterflies.
I drew this map recently for a book project, but this image will also be used as a full size poster so I had to make it huge. Because of that this project was both interesting and challenging. I haven't made that many maps before and none of this size so this took some serious effort to complete. I also kinda regretted at the end that I decided to make most of the names in the map curved text because that took quite a bit more time than I expected, but after it was started, it had to be finished that way and I think it ended up looking better than it would have without it.
Monarchs Another experiment. I don't know what the hell I was doing, I just wanted to do some spray brushing so this is what happened. I use spray brushes quite often in my work, but this was drawn entirely with the basic round brush, pretty much the stuff you use when you open Photoshop or a similar program for the first time and have no clue about what the hell you are doing.
I made this illustration a few months ago for a children's book. This sort of work is quite unfamiliar to me and not the sort of thing I usually do( I am not entirely sure how I got the job myself), but it's interesting to work on a wide range of projects and topics. With this in my portfolio I can now tell people that I have worked on everything, from children's books to drawing corpses and horror themed monsters( which is true). The nice thing about this was that I didn't have to worry about realism much and was able to stylize quite a bit more than usual. Also this particular illustration contains a giraffe in a sweater on a bicycle, so that's a thing. I am still slowly continuing work on this project, so I will probably upload more examples from this project some time in the future.
Spirit Monsters Recently I worked on a video game project for which I designed and painted a 100 monsters corresponding to five elements used in the game. This is the last group of 20 creatures. Spirit element, as it was called in the game, really was only very vaguely defined, so this was the most difficult and the most inclusive of the five elements to work with. It was fun, I got to draw quite a few funky ghost creatures.
These banners are a part of the work I did for a book recently. They will be used as backgrounds and decoration for character portraits and names which will be added in at a later time. Normally I don't watermark my work, but in this case the author of the book requested it, since the book isn't published yet.
Gross Ghosts A little more experimentation, a little bit more fun and weirdness.
Air Monsters Recently I worked on a video game project for which I designed and painted a 100 monsters corresponding to five elements used in the game. This is the forth group of 20 creatures. The definition of air element was quite wide, so anything that has something to do air itself, lightning, resembled actual flying creatures or just looks like it would live in the air could fit into this category.
Water Monsters Recently I worked on a video game project for which I designed and painted a 100 monsters corresponding to five elements used in the game. This is the third group of 20 creatures. The definition of water element was quite wide, so anything that has something to do water, ice, mist, snow or just looks like it would live underwater could fit into this category.
Folklore Monsters Cards This is the third deck of the Monster Hunter series I worked on. There are 4 decks in actuality, but the art for the very thirst one was done by someone else. Like previous decks, the creatures in this one are based on various legends from around the world, some very well known, some more obscure, and the middle card at the bottom is actually the front of the packaging.
Triangle People During my work I am not always able to experiment as much as I would like either to do with various constrains that come with each project or simply because the stuff I want to draw at the time has nothing to do with anything at all. So that means that it is time to screw around with different styles and designs. Here are five characters I drew just for fun while trying to draw using styles and designs unusual to me, more mostly random experiments to come. This is available in various print forms like posters, phone covers and flasks( I might have made the last one up) at http://www.redbubble.com/people/augustinas/works/20363049-triangle-people?ref=recent-owner
Earth Monsters Recently I worked on a video game project for which I designed and painted a 100 monsters corresponding to five elements used in the game. This is the second group of 20 creatures. The definition of earth element was quite wide, so anything that has something to do with rocks, mud, sand, minerals, metals, plants and so on can be included. This was a fun project, and this group was probably the most diverse and interesting to work with.
Tea Time It might be obvious by the very existence of this image, but I enjoy tea. So Why not make a drawing that takes that appreciation and blows it up to ridiculous proportions, I thought to myself after a British person once commented on how much tea I drink, which, if you believe in the stereotype of tea-loving British people, would be quite an achievement. So this is what happened. Roughly from left to right we have the tea fountain, a tea serving butler monkey, something like a hundred jars and boxes containing the most unreal of teas, a selection of fruits, sweets and other paraphernalia that comes together with tea and of course the great tea brewing apparatus on the right. I will let you decide what hides behind the large door in the background.
Pixel Aliens I made these a few months back for a game project and thought that it's about time I share some more of my pixel work. I actually have quite a lot of it in the backlogs, but I won't be able to upload most of it for a year or so. A lot of the work I get seams to revolve around designing and illustrating monsters, doesn't it? Oh well, I don't mind that at all.
Fire Monsters Recently I worked on a video game project for which I designed and painted a 100 monsters corresponding to five elements used in the game. This is the first group of 20 creatures, all having something to do with fire, obviously. The definition of fire element was quite wide in this case, so anything that has something to do with fire, lava, smoke and so on can be included. This was a fun project, I had a lot of freedom and basically every weird monster I wanted to do ended up being completed and didn't remain as a sketch instead.
Here are a few backgrounds I made for a game project. They all have a large relatively flat middle-ground because of the way the game works and to allow space for characters to be placed. That was quite a challenge really, I apparently have this instinct of filling the whole image with detail that would get in the way of the characters and I had to turn that down when sketching.
Genies These are some of the illustrations I created for for a card game for Fancy Squid Games. The 6 six smaller images are some of the cards and the larger image on the right is the front of the box.
Potions So I decided to draw some items, because I haven't done that in a while and because I felt like it and it really makes me realize how much I need to learn. These were much harder to draw than they probably should have been and of course I had to make them overly fancy because that's just the way we do things around here( by we I mean me). The first potion contains the essence of audacity and it's a hard substance to contain. That's why it's leaking. The second makes you realize how small you are in comparison to the universe at large. The third one lets you change your eye color and appearance, though what you get is random. The forth one creates clones. The fifth one makes the drinker deliciously evil.
Witches Cards These are the card illustrations I made recently for a card game based on various witch legends. Some legends were familiar, some were weird as hell, like the one about a witch that would use children skins as clothing. The bottom right card is actually the front of the packaging. As you might have noticed, only orange color plus black and white were used. That was the limitation for these illustrations, a design choice I was presented with and the reason for it is to keep a consistent style with other matching card sets witch use another main color and are based on other legends which are either completed or in development.
Vampire Cards These are the card illustrations I made recently for a card game based on various vampire legends. Some legends were familiar, some were weird as hell. The middle card in the bottom row is actually the front of the packaging. As you might have noticed, only red color plus black and white were used. That was the limitation for these illustrations, a stylistic choice I was presented with and the reason for it is to keep a consistent style with other matching card sets witch use another main color and are based on other legends which are either completed or in development.
Cadaver card game illustrations As the title suggests, these are are illustrations I did for a card game called "Cadaver" about necromancy. It's always fun to draw corpses and spare body parts and insane characters. I won't explain the rules of the game, but the first 4 cards are corpses, the things you necromance up. Second row of 3 cards are the items you need for resurrecting said corpses. The third row or 3 cards are accomplices that provide you the items for resurrecting and the first 3 cards in the bottom row are special use cards. The very last card at the bottom right is actually the image used for the back side of the cards.
Blue Forest This is a background I did recently for a game project. The forest is drawn on four separate layers in order to use them for a parallax effect, in other words, the layers are moved at different speeds in order to create an illusion of perspective. Also all layers are loopable as shown at the bottom.
Mutant Monsters The seventh and last set of monsters I drew for a game project. This one was all about creatures affected by radiation and zombified mess.
Robot Monsters This is the sixth set of monsters out of seven I did for a game project. The theme was given to my as futuristic creatures, but all that boiled down to was robots so that they are different enough from the other sets.
Ice Monsters This is the fifth set of monsters out of seven I did for a game project. Basically anything that looks like it's made of ice or snow or lives in it.
Horror Monsters This is the forth set of monsters out of seven I did for a game project. The theme is very loose this time, blood and guts galore, but otherwise I was able to do pretty much what I wanted with the designs.
Medieval Monsters This is the third set out of seven and is loosely based on monsters of medieval legends, demons, dryads, golems, basilisks and such. The last, the hydra, gave me a lot of trouble, I guess I should have known that it would take much longer compared to other creatures to draw all those heads, especially when I decided to make each slightly different. This set was a lot of fun, I got to draw rock and wood textures, as well as funky creatures, which I find enjoyable for some reason.
Sky Monsters This is the second set of monsters I made for a game project. The only rule besides having no humanoid creatures was that all monsters had to be flying by whatever method. I had some real fun with the designs because I had the opportunity to incorporate some surrealism and be extra funky and goofy. How do they fly? I don't know, don't worry about it.
Ses Monsters This is a part of a game project I worked on recently. These ten monsters are loosely based on deep sea creatures and besides having them sea themed and the rule that there can't be designs that are too humanoid looking, all the designs and execution was basically up to me. Because of that this ended up being the most fun commercial project I have worked on so far. This was the first set I worked on and there are several other sets of monsters each based on a different theme which I will upload soon. This project was a lot of fun, but also a lot of work, I really miscalculated on how long it will take me to complete each monster. The way the schedule went I pretty much had to come up with over 20 designs in a day. I can do it, I usually have enough ideas, but it is still exhausting as hell to me.
Curly Dragon My entry for the dragon/monster part of the Outcast Odyssey contest. Contests are usually not my idea of fun, but drawing monsters amounts to about 97 percent of my waking like, so why not.
Lighthouse Interior This is a part of quite a large number of tiles I did recently for a game called Arelite Core. At this time I can only upload several examples of the work I did for this project and more will follow sometime in the future after the game is released. http://www.arelitecore.com/
Houses This is a part of quite a large number of tiles I did recently for a game called Arelite Core. These tiles will be used in the very beginning of the game. At this time I can only upload several examples of the work I did for this project and more will follow sometime in the future after the game is released. http://www.arelitecore.com/
Ship This is a part of quite a large number of tiles I did recently for a game called Arelite Core. At this time I can only upload several examples of the work I did for this project and more will follow sometime in the future after the game is released. http://www.arelitecore.com/
"Red Ships" Still drawing rocks and trees. How exiting, I know. For some reason I haven't drawn anything reflective or metal in quite a while, so the ships were fun to work on.
"Valley of Flying Trees" Largely an excuse to draw tree and rock textures. So relaxing.
"Hat Man" You think you’re fancy? Cha! The Hat Man loughs at you. Imagine how much effort it takes just to prevent this kind of hat from collapsing.
"Wooden Robot" A friendly robot who runs on nothing but sunshine and good intentions.
"Forest of Fakes" A strange place where a race of eccentric giants spend their days pretending to be trees. Well, trying to pretend to be trees. Most of them are not very good at it. Why they do this? Who knows, people tried asking the giants themselves, but they are extremely dedicated to their act and trees usually don’t talk. The most popular theory is that they find this kind of behavior hilarious.
"Venus Flytrap" I made these three small vector illustrations for an ecommerce site that sells Venus Flytraps flytrapranch.com
"Mutation Fairy" With her happy-go-lucky attitude, her dapper dress and a missing tooth, mutation fairy flies all around the place and with gleeful joy pulls supernumerary digits, suspicious growths and all kinds of fun clinical disorders from her numerous pockets. She is a generous creature indeed. She gives out mutations to anyone and everyone without paying attention to the time of year, whether you have been good or bad, your age or where you live. Sooner or later she will visit you and in all likelihood will keep on visiting again and again. If you’re lucky, you might get something what doesn’t do much harm or might even be slightly beneficial, like a sixth finger, but you will probably end up with a whole plethora of hereditary diseases including several forms of cancer.
"Profound Lessons" A great tunnel in which all the really important lessons are taught and learned.
"Let's Ride" I came up with this while riding in a car, it came suddenly, almost like a vision. It’s a good thing that I am not seizure prone, because that might have not ended well.
"Mustache Chart" Now I think I will have to grow a mustache.
"The Infamous Contrast Brothers" A pair of notorious bandits who are known for spreading fear, destruction and confusion everywhere they go. Mostly known for spreading confusion, though.
"The Woman Who Sneezed Ghosts" An unpleasant yet amusing condition.
"This Race Is Unfare" In the future sports will be very different. Once biomechanically enhanced humans come into the field, no amount of fancy shoes and leg shaving will be enough to fill the gap between them and regular athletes.
Everyone Gets Bored
"Dandy Man" You know that you're fancy when instead of a pug or a small poodle, you carry around a duck billed platypus.
"Outwaiting the Stampede" People can get used to anything. If hundreds of thousands of odd animals started stampeding through your home village every other week, getting on top of the roof and waiting it out would become just a part of the routine as well.
"Nightmare" Regretfully, this is not actually my nightmare, just a fruit of my imagination. I almost never remember any of my dreams and it’s a real shame, it just feels like so much wasted material from which I could develop ideas. I only remember two dreams I have ever had: one involves counting logs, ten thousand of them in fact, and other had to do something with dotted lines. Weird. Well, perhaps this painting will become nightmare fuel for someone else and make them dream up something interesting instead of me.
"The Throne Room" Designed to impress and to intimidate, this is the kind of throne room that every monarch wants, but few can pull off.
Modern Day Shaman
Living in a Swamp
"Baby Life" This is a Baby Life. Or Life Seed. Or Roughly Spherical Lump of Rocks, Lizards and a Statue for Some Reason. Call it however you want, but what it is essentially is a tool which makes inhabiting new planets and otherwise parasitizing the galaxy so much easier for the human race. You send a small interplanetary vessel with a bunch of these and when a remotely habitable planet or moon or a large asteroid or whatever is near, you just defrost one of these in an onboard microwave and drop it to the surface. It has everything it could possibly need for starting a good solid human civilization: samples of multiple life forms including plants, animals, bacteria for terraforming the atmosphere if needed, prototype humans which will be grown after the environment is more suitable, materials of which various tools can be constructed, some food supply, dvd/ blue ray player, etc., etc.
In Color He Trusts
Butterfly Man
"Robot God - Trinity 2.0" In the world of robots even gods are elected through wotting. The difference from the normal wotting system familiar to us is that robots are rational and always elect an individual who is actually the most suited for the job, as opposed to most prominent and charismatic as we usually do. In this case however, there were three exceptional robots equally appropriate to become gods of robots. It was decided (though another wotting) that the best solution is to combine the three candidates and create a single superior machine. Thus a new magnificent creature was born and adorned with wires and screws which have gone out of use ages ago, but still exist as symbols of robotics. It was then given the title of trinity 2.0
"King Claudius the Unforgiving" This man has a name that suites him. He owns a pet rabbit and drags it along everywhere he goes for the sole purpose of having something to be angry at. If the rabbit does nothing annoying or infuriating enough, the king can always be angry at it for not living up to the expectations of an animal which is the symbol of his family. Rabbits name is Charles by the way. Another item the king never leaves his castle without is the collection of weapons which he gathered by taking a single piece from every enemy he has ever slain. He started this collection in order to never forget his enemies and never forgive them, even long after all of them had gone. Because of this the amount of weapons he is carrying around is starting to get ridiculous and the weight increases.
"Insane Warriors – Shark Wielding Robot" There is a battle going and the goal of the people involved is not as much to win as it is to amuse themselves. And what is more amusing than insanity? Here we have a robot whose choice of weapon in a shark that has been set on fire. Why such strange and unusual weapon? Because. These people are crazy, they can’t be reasoned with. Though, there is a twisted logic behind this decision. A huge part of a battle is mental warfare, scaring and confusing your enemy and a robot running at you at full speed and swinging around a burning shark is sure to perplex anyone.
"Idiotic Battle Strategies" I guess you could say that this was inspired by the stupidity that I observe in daily life. The goal that I had in mind was to throw away logic and sense of perspective and just have fun with this painting. That goal was achieved.
"Evil" This image was designed to temp you into the mindset of evil. When I say you, I do not mean a hypothetical person, I mean you, the person who was just looking at this picture and is now reading this sentence. If you just for a second though that this image is cool or interesting, my job is done. From now on you will slowly get more and more fascinated by the strange, dark and macabre, your way of thinking will gradually change without you even noticing and it is now just the matter of time until you reach the conclusion that good and evil are just concepts and when nothing really matters at all. Welcome to the other side, let’s have fun.
"Lady of the Dreams" The newest attempt in my never ending mission trying to create something badass. The title is kind of a lie though, as for once I didn’t come up with this while half asleep, but while sketching. Lady of the sketches sounds stupid, so this is what you get.
"Flesh Ball!!! (Why Is Everything Alive?)" When I started drawing this, this seemed like fun goofy idea, but as I continued working on it, I started thinking that this could easily be considered horror or even gore. If I didn't use such bright colors and didn't put a smile on the characters face, it would definitely be some kind of horrible competition to the death. However, I still view this as a fun image, or is it just me and I'm even weirder than I thought?
Your Cute Little Domestic Robot
"Collecting Those Heads" Because creating sufficiently sophisticated artificial intelligence still proves to be too much of a challenge, a different kind of solution to this problem was found. A cyborg with the ability to incorporate into its own system the brains of recently deceased people and other animals and in doing so, expand it's mental capacity was created and nicknamed "The Mother". Not many people were surprised when one of the prototypes escaped and started stealing corpses from morgues, funeral services and digging up the recently buried. So far, capture attempts have not been successful.
The Candle Man
A Man of Style
"Infinite Hairstyle" Our friend here has a little problem: he is an owner of a hairstyle that is literalry infinite( well at least nobody was able to find where it ends). His hair always points exactly upwards from earth no matter what position this man takes. It also forms itself around obstacles so he doesn't get stuck in trees while walking along the road and such, however, he is incapable of fully closing a door when he walks into a building, because the hair is in the way. Also there are some less obvious problems. This man is banned from getting anywhere near to any airport as his hair might intersect with the path of an airplane and jam it's engines. And of course, scientist keep bothering him with the proposals of installing a miniature lift onto his hair and using it as a space elevator to send supplies to space with small costs. This quickly gets annoying. On the other hand, his hair made him quite a celebrity and he stared in a few reality shows.
"The House" The House aka Everything Is More Complicated Than It Appears To Be. I made this painting to see how detailed and complicated I could make it. This took me almost exactly 100 hours of pure painting time, not counting the time I spent sketching or staring at the sealing.
"Believe in Robots" 161 minimalistic robots created to express my love for everything science fiction.
"Race" This is not the kind of race where normal people come to participate just because it is fun. Nor is this the kind of race in which all participants are highly trained professional athletes. This is the kind of race there only crazy people participate and do whatever it takes to win, because whoever wins becomes disgustingly rich and whoever is dragging behind gets shot in the arm for some extra motivation.

"Bridge of Spinning Things" Probably the most random thing I ever drew. It was fun adding in all the funky details and raising the level of nonsense.
