Marker Sketch - This is a second year sketch of a childrens toy. I prefer a more energetic style to that of a highy refined one - i believe it allows the ideas to flow quicker.
Bambi Chair - The Bambi Chair was a second year project. The brief was for folding cafe furniture. I tried to create a profile that was attractive in both the open and closed variations. Details were important - the chair was laser-cut, the inner edges were painted red. Rather than hide the axle, it was made a feature with the use of the acrylic discs and hex bolts.
Fuel-cell powered scooter - This second year assignment was focused on sustainability, hence fuel-cells being the power source. A great deal of research was made before the design was begun. These CAD renderings were modelled in Solidworks and then rendered in 3D Studio Max.
Bodo Full Spectrum Table Lamp - This lamp was designed during my student exchange to Germany in first semester 2005. My goal was to create a lamp using full-spectrum lightfitings. A sense of irony is deliberatly incorporated into the form. I used the shape of a pill to draw a link to a vitamin tablet in the fact that both are an artificial solution to a naturally abundant source.
/lamp - Designed for batch production, the /lamp started off with a form completely different to the final product. Firstly I designed a polypropylene lamp, I then cut it up into the small pallets that now fill the drinking glass. A compact flurescent bulb is simply placed in the top of the glass, leaving the cord to emerge from the top.
