The Car Connection - A simple ad, with a huge headline...I wrote this concept for the client, and it was used on trade-show materials and displays as well...you can't lose with a humorous headline...
Hillhaven Corporation Ad - I wrote the headline and copy for this ad - design was by Michael Sullivan (of Tacoma, WA)...I used to do a lot of creative for Hillhaven (but got very few samples of my work from them)...nonetheless, it was a great gig...then they were sold to another long-term care company. End of great gig.
News & Observer 100 Years Ad - Having spent a long time with this company, I can't help but show some of the work that I did there...this one jumps out at me because of the great collections of historic headlines...it took a lot of microfilm research to land them. Making them sepia-toned was a good fit, and I was glad that the headline I wrote for the ad was kept "as-is. "
Loss Prevention Results Ad - This magazine ad was concepted and designed by moi. The ad shows how people's looks can be deceiving...the details about each person were sometimes a surprise...a great way to make people think before they make a knee-jerk judgement about others...oh...and to background-check everyone that they know for about 10 bucks each!
366 Days a Year Ad - Well, sometimes your gut just tells you that an idea is good...even if your boss makes you change it to suit their tastes... this is the one that didn't run, and I stand by the original header...everyone was aware of the leap year pun. We actually did a prop "gift box" for the photo - and used the photo of it on the corporate holiday cards too....
Hope Is The Best Medicine - This young man was 17, and was fighting cancer with all that he had...his wish was to run an ad campaign (across all media) in his hometown (Raleigh, NC) to encourage people who have had cancer...or those who will some day. I did a billboard based on this header as well...
St. John Construction Ad - Sometimes the best ideas are the craziest ones...this home builder / remodeling business has a great sense of humor, and when he chose this ad, I was excited...the Photoshop'd tool belt was pure kitsch, and the simple design let the photo be the central focus...fun stuff.
Presidential Hockey Players? - When The Carolina Hurricanes and The News & Observer paired up to give away a shot at $100k, this ad (written, designed & changes added to the illustration) was attention-getting, and ran as a full page in The News & Observer, Raleigh, NC.
Stratis Business Center - This was actually a 4 page folder-ish brochure, but the cover could also work as an ad...client provided the headline, and the box photo was combined with keys, and shadowed in Photoshop...clean.
Tossing & Turning Ad - Sometimes a headline will make an ad scream...this one was focused on how home delivery of this newspaper was uninterrupted by a huge snowstorm...and in the South, that's saying a lot.
Here Comes The Neighborhood Ad - When trianglehomesource.com was launched, I came up with a concept that puts a new spin on an old joke...and the results were stellar.
