Sidecar redefines narrow-footprint companion storage both visually and interactively. Available in two sizes, Sidecar features unique, functional design details: no-pull drawer face, low profile casters, felt lined inset tray, integrated tow bar and optional USB charging.

Space is at a premium in today’s workplace, creating the need for mobile, versatile storage and organization solutions in compact sizes. The Watson Trolley had great success in this category, with many innovative companies choosing it over the more standard “ped”. Watson was interested in developing another smaller mobile storage to capture more of that market. I developed concepts that focused on bag storage, portable electronics storage and charging, and ease of mobility. These features were identified as the most needed by modern workers especially in offices with un-assigned desks, a rising trend in office planning.

Sidecar’s felt lined inset tray offers USB charging for mobile devices. The tow bar enables efficient and more ergonomic mobility. The inset top provides easy drawer access without requiring a pull, lending to the clean, simple design. And the lockable drawer gives enough space for a purse, backpack, or messenger bag.

Watson practices sustainability in their processes and products - utilizing recycled and recyclable materials and building adjustable furniture that lasts. All storage cases are constructed locally in Poulsbo, WA, utilizing no-added-formaldehyde (NAF), thermally fused laminate (TFL) with green-list PPE (PVC free) edge banding.

The Zo Sidecar was awarded a Silver Award in the Files and Mobile Storage category at NeoCon 2017, the largest design exposition and conference for commercial interiors in the US.
