Cherry Wood form and material exploration

These pieces were an exploration into form and material. I chose to use a very dense natural material to achieve a precise and weighted experience. To do this I used raw cherry blocks which I made into small objects. In creating these objects my focus fell on the precision and the finish.

I used Watco Cherry Oil Finish to bring the colors of the wood back and finished it off with a layer of clear coat to let them shine.
