Master plan of entire development. the first phase of the development is to include 4 mixed use retail/multi-family structures in the middle of the pier. Infrastructure has been installed to bring the working docks up to 2012 standards with fibre optic communication, new working docks, new gatehouses and landscape around the whole pier. Buidlings have been cleared and now 'pad ready' for construction.

The challenge was to create a commercial community that is easily accessible to automobiles and at the same time is comfortable and inviting to pedestrians. To accomplish this we created a very clear pattern of circulation around the site and minimized visibility to parking. To enhance the pedestrian scale, streets are kept narrow, the blocks are modeled after Portland ’s intimate 200’ blocks, storefronts and live/work units line the sidewalk and numerous vistas and access ways are opened to the water.

Port Gardner Wharf - GGLO
Port Gardner Wharf , situated in the Port of Everett , has beautiful views overlooking the bay, islands and the Olympic Mountains to the west. The project is a joint venture between the Maritime Trust Company and the Port of Everett to redevelop this under utilized, industrial, 60 acre pier into a mixed use residential, commercial and light industrial village. John, while working at GGLO was employed to provide master planning for the entire site and architectural design for the project’s first phase.
