This is a plain language editing project I did for the Cascade Family Acupuncture website. (http://www.cascadefamilyacupuncture.com/index.html) I edited text from multiple pages on the website to create clear, easily understood information for clients considering acupuncture treatments. The original text is in regular font, my edits/rewrites are in italic. Dr. Ocker said "I love your writing and your suggestions. I used everything, almost verbatim, with only a very few minor changes."

Plain Language Writing & Editing

Plain language is a writing and editing style that creates communication that is easily understood the first time it is heard or read. Especially useful for medical and healthcare information, this approach allows people from all backgrounds access to the important information they need to make healthcare decisions. Instead of "dumbing down" writing, plain language retains the important information and presents it in a way appropriate for the audience.
