Opening Ceremony Table

Opening Ceremony asked Neal Feay to help design and manufacture the props for a fashion show during 2014 Fashion Week.
Although the product itself gleams with minimalism and simplicity, it bears a number of structural elements hidden to the observer that are absolutely essential to its strength. A half-by-five inch piece of bar stock helps resist rocking while adding no exposed fasteners. The bends on the table edges add an incredible amount of flex resistance, and the equivalent features on each leg provide for subtle feet on which are the only spots the table touches the ground.
Because the designer demanded no exposed fasteners and a particular design for the top, the only components to alter were the tops of the legs and the support. Multiple prototypes of the table eventually determined the strongest and stiffest design. Following the play, Opening Ceremony took ownership of the tables and currently shows them in their store in New York.
