Zephyr

The very simple and subtle influences of nature injected into the forms of architecture, juxtaposed with the raw and honest materials used, are often the most complimenting to its environment. I am interested in this blending of nature and man made, and how products and furniture in interior spaces can also be influenced by these elements, in hopes to keep us connected and aware of our environment outside the walls. In making this desk lamp, I simplified the form of an Albertan chinook giving it the name zephyr, which means a mild gentle breeze. The materials are left bare to emphasize their natural but beautiful patterns and flaws.
