illumination - abacus for luxit - client luxit (it) project abacus - "coloured illu-motion": creating atmosphere with coloured light. family of lamps with simple and innovative way to control the colour of the light. movement of the light source within the lamp. direct interface between user and lamp guaranteeing immediate results - no "black box" effect. in contrast to the movement of the light, the design is rather essential, sober and almost static, unpretentiously it stays back making place for the light to be the protagonist. constructively the lamp consist of two parts: a technical nucleus and a “skirt”, thus allowing a variety of forms and surfaces. diverse light sources for domestic and contract use. complete range: floor, suspended, table and wall. my role ideation, design and technical development matthias burhenne industrial design 2004 - 2005 web http://www.luxit.it/kunder/luxit/luxitengpublish.nsf/statichtml/index1.html

Pure design, new lamp technology and compact channel dimension open new opportunities as "space creating element", with maximum ease of implementation, cleaning and maintenance.
