Number the Stars Poster
The problem was to design a poster for the Coterie Theater in Kansas City for a play for their 2012-2013 season. The play I chose was Number the Stars. The play is about a girl whose family is involved with the Danish Resistance during the Holocaust. The main character, ten-year-old Annemarie, is required to grow up quickly and bravely face many obstacles.
I created a poster that shows how truly terrifying these obstacles might have been to a ten-year-old. I used imagery from the book, from Nazi soldiers, to tanks, to dark forests.
