La Velata Blu / experimenting light in the campus

An intervention to be realized in the Politecnico of Milan’s Bovisa Campus, more precisely the project site is a presently unexploited green area.
The project is a very cheap and environment friendly intervention. A composition of coloured veils, stretched by frames, designed to create shadow and coloured areas on the grass, to be used by students as relax as well as study areas. These fabric panels are arranged according to a virtual grid to create different paths and points of view on the campus.
There are no furnitures besides the veil panels: the seats are created thanks to differences in height on the field, obtained using artificial turfs. A sort of waves are recreated on the grass: they offer differences in height to be exploited by users in different ways.
Materials are obviously cheap and simple, according to the entire project.
