Secular Chapel (Barcelona, Spain)_2016

This Secular Chapel joined a competition to complete part of the facilities the project for Plaza de Les Glòries, in Barcelona, hosts. This great urban public space specially focuses on areas for colective activities and for people and communities to meet and socialize, so the contest required a place for silence, meditation, and inner observation.

This need for a look to the inside provides both the idea and its form, an spiral, that grows towards its center. Being this a place for no specific religion and yet any of them, the spiral, common both in maths and natural world, from the smallest to the greatest scale, represents what's common to everyone, disregarding race or belief.
