MONASH Prato program

During my time at Monash due to my distinction average, I was selected to attend the Prato program in Prato Italy. This is a multidisciplinary design course with lectures for the MADA faculty. Over the 7-week program I completed a mapping project where I explored space and the sensory experience.

While staying in Prato I made it my mission to go for a 6 km run before class each day. I took inspiration from this run and decided to map each day. With every new week I would map a different sense. I would focus on the different senses such as smell, visual, sound and the way I felt i.e. heat. I mapped these over a 5-week period and at the end of the mapping experiences I then created a top to reflect these feelings. It was designed to show people observing the runners wearing the tops what they were going through, this was done through the use of colour changes in the fabric and a lighting systems that felt the vibrations as the runner moved.
