I was given a brief from the Marketing and Sales department on what was needed to help individualise the new “Evolution” product range which was launched mid last year.
I designed three products:
1.Bar stand – designed to hold the different length bars.
2.The upright tablet stand: allowing the customers to scroll through the selector App.
3.The wall mounted tablet stand: allowing the customers to scroll through the selector App.
Tasks included:
•Concept design
•Creating prototypes
•Solidworks
•Creating bending programming for production
Sourcing locking components and foam.
•Designing artwork and out sourcing the printing
•Creating fitting instruction for in store installation
•Creating JIG’s to aid with manufacture
•Writing SOP’s for the manufacturing plant. Detailing process such as:
•From bending
•Welding
•How to hang on the powder coat line to maximise efficiency,
•How to pre assemble
•Packaging
The Bar Stand
The bar stands feature soft close draw slides to ensure the stand will close under its own weight when not in use.
Features water cut EDM foam to hold each bar in place
The stand pulls open to allow access to the largest of cross bars
Up Right Tablet Stand
The tablet rests at 900mm head for ergonomic use
Features the Roof Rack cross bar
The base is indicative of the ‘O’ from the ROLA logo
Coloured Black to meet brand identity
Held together with 3 bolts in total
The tablet cable runs down the rear extrusion profile
Easy to Open.
Simple lock located in the top.
