Business Cards à la Fabergé
This project consists of a set of business cards I made in the style of Fabergé; that is, guilloché enameling set on engine-turned patterns in metal. These cards were engraved on a single copper sheet, then separated by water-jet cut cutting. I then prepared each card individually for enameling and enlisted the mentoring of an enameling artist in Oakland to learn how to work with vitreous glass powder, and work in his studio. The enameling process is extremely difficult to carry out, but I am extremely proud of some of the examples that emerged from the kiln.
