UTC: Handheld RFID Antenna - The relationship between new technology and its user is always a key design focus. Ergonomic requirements of handheld objects require care in the comfort, size and position of the control points. Balancing weight to create minimal user strain also insures the product has adapted to the user, thankfully not the other way around.
Verifeye: IR Camera for Taxi Cab - In the hands of capable designers new uses for materials can create astounding results. Using a durable IR transparent resin allowed this adjustable night vision camera to become reality. The spherical form allows the camera lens to adjust in roll, pan, and yaw while the supporting brackets create a locking force with only one screw. My role entailed surface design and mechanical details.
Bell Mobility: Location Based System Device - Using cellular technology this small device can be attached to any valuable item to track its location at any given time. On this project I was given the task of styling the product and developing the 3D CAD surfaces.
Millenium Biologix: Tissue Engineering System - When a new technology is being introduced to an emerging market, especially the medical industry, a lot of planning must go into the system that utilizes the new product and likewise the product must accommodate all steps of the process giving the user no room for error. This product required the design of disposable bio-card with sterilized subcomponents and a five chambered clinical operation unit. In total over thirty molded parts were required to fit together.
RIM: Cradle for Wireless Communication Device - Creating a stylish product under tight time lines and tight budgets is always tall order, but with the right team success can be realized. From initial sketch to final 3D CAD files only three weeks were required for this attractive and affordable product accessory to be completed. My work included concept ideation, surfacing and mechanical CAD details.
