The increasing size of an automobiles A-Pillar is to protect the passenger cell of the vehicle. For further protection of the passenger cell, the frontal crumple zone is lengthened by stretching the end of the dashboard away from the occupants. This makes the angle of the A-pillars more horizontal than ever before automotive industry. Creating a new blind-spot that never occurred before.
