Zest Photographers is a Barcelona-based collective of associated photographers. A group of entrepreneurs that combines their knowledge in different areas of photography to offer a range of specialties (hostelry, events, reports and fashion). As part of the design of their identity, the name given Zest (enthusiasm) reflected their main quality as a team, in addition to having a strong identity in terms of sonority and spelling.
As requirements, the clients needed an elegant, simple and unambiguous identity. Seeking to avoid falling into platitudes and so often vitiated thematics, i looked for a symbol tied to photography that was not so evident. In this case, the light metering icon seemed to combine harmoniously with the uppercase Z. So simple but effective optical illusion arises between the two figures, accompanying the result (negative) with its opposite (positive). The result is a balanced symbol with a clear visual impact.
