Cyborg Mesh in archicad
The Bauhaus took the idea of incorporating all pieces of art together, which went on to become one of the most influential designs currents in architecture and even more so, modern design which Vidler was so focused on.
Sigfried was mentioned as his work on architecture analysed the fact that for the first time, more people are starting to living in cities than in country sides, and that we are forgeting the "the intimacy of life", which to Giedion was the human scale. We as humans were forgeting this most important fact of life.
Reading about Mies, its very clear the reason on why Vidler chooses to talk about Mies. Mies talks focuses on the broad proportions, regularity of rhythmic elements and attention to the relationship of the man-made to nature, which to me is the "cyborg" of which vidler is talking about.
For my narrative, i have chosen to do the documentary, Fuel, which about the US and its dependancy on foreign fossil Fuels.
My first object i have chosen is a lens, but to be specific is a camera lens, i will then attach this to my cyborg so that the lens will focus sunlight to a specific point.
First presentation sheet of cyborg with addition of water bottle, model to be storage. 3 Bottles on his back act as storage of fuel to share between his family and storage on his arm to store CO2. Also used vacuum cleaner to allow "collection" of brackish water and CO2 to allow my cyborg to create fuel.

Va' crit - being group 2, we did the Va' project first so i had a fair idea what to expect when going to the crit. Firstly i was very impressed with the quality of work produced, you can defiantly see the improvement of everyone through out. The themes and thought processors of everyone is the simliar throughout though. Mostly everyone talked about a connection of people and place through space and a lot were trying to connect the land to the sea and in doing so, connect the habitants of the Va' to the earth. This was common in our group, but a feel a lot more people chose to hang there design over water in group 3. Another similarity i found very common between groups was the idea of a changing building/structure. This was done by picking a experience in there life and representing in their Va' but then allowing this Va' to almost evolve with time, and i feel that these designed that changed through the course of time had the most impact.

Design workshop 1 - Homes for cyborgs

"The line between nature and the machine, between the organic and the inorganic, seemed crystal clear: organic-ism was a metaphor, not a reality. Now, the boundaries between organic and inorganic, blurred by cybernetic and bio technologies, seem less sharp" - Anthony Vidler
