outreach service for underage victims of sex trafficking
internal logo for recycling initiatives
logo for annual golf and tennis tournament benefitting charitable initiatives The limitation on this project was -I had to use the existing ball graphics. -of course it had to be "fun" -make them look like a group or they belong "similar but different" HA! So I concentrated on the tried and true skill of working with the type to tie the two together, made it look bold, contain the type to look like unit, place the logo to identify the difference. I really dislike those balls but I love working with type and in the end, it wasn't that bad. Yes, designers makes things look "pretty" but we also solve problems.
PACE RACE Is a Run/Walk Event benefitting the Senior Services. The limitation on this were: -Had to somehow incorporate this light structure where the event starts or stop or where the event is happening around which is also close to the Senior Services office. -they also wanted to incorporate the local water way or river that is the location. -that it's a active event. I couldn't focus on running or walking. What did I learn through this project? That I'm really patient with people and I try to give them the essence of what they ask for. That these projects are never really mine. What I try to keep close is the process and how I get there. Clarity on the message is the priority, styling is secondary.
Temporary logos for a couple of Food Service and Retail burger patties. Every in-house designer have lots of projects like this. I call a "everything but the kitchen sink" project. Everything, no budget, and very limited time for proper execution. The limitations on this were: -No budget -Maneuvering around designing by committee, too many hands and egos/insecurities -very aggressive time line -no budget, team didn't want to spend money since it was temporary -I also did the packaging and the photography with no food stylist If there was ever any reasons for why an in-house designer are important, this is it! In-house designers, saves company money, they are able to work across internal departments and are fast. At the end of this I was reminded how patient (that word again) and committed I am about quality no matter what the circumstances are. That I can make something out of nothing. And I walked away knowing I did my best.
