Jazzy Jeff - Flyer - entertainment - Promotional piece for a hip-hop show at a nightclub, featuring 3 of the 4 elements of hip-hop culture (rap/MCs, DJs & bboys/dancers). The 4th element, graffiti/art, is represented visually in the design of the piece.
Doppleganger - album/CD cover - entertainment - album cover design for Doppleganger, a fashionable indie rock/electronic band with a light sound. the design employs references to the japanese members of the band, and their use of traditional japanese music & instrumentation.
Ippei - promo - restaurant - promotional card for a high-end japanese bistro... utilizing contemporary graphics and a muted color palette to reflect the culture of the restaurant.
White Label - logo - urban fashion - logo for an urban fashion brand, which references paint splatters... representing the raw and vivid style of urban, creative lifestyles.
White Label - corporate identity - urban fashion - design for business card and letterhead of a high end urban fashion brand, which focuses on an element of surprise (hence, the splashes of paint in the design).
Philips - brand book & packaging - branding - The project included product development and packaging graphics for a coffee grinder, while research into the Philips brand produced a 12-page booklet, focusing on the history and future of the company and its products. The use of "dots of light" in both pieces here represent the company's origins as a lighting manufacturer.
Urban Artistry - promo - dance studio - promo card for a dance course which covers all forms of hip-hop and street dance. the imagery reflects this subculture's environment (specifically in Washington, D.C.), while the typography and content matches the sophisticated approach of the instructor.
AM&M - logo - medical - Logo for trio of physicians in practice together. The reference to the 3 cardiologists work with the human heart is emphasized in the ampersand symbol, shaped to look like a heart.
Tekserve - ipod & accessories book - electronics - product catalogue and informational booklet for ipods & accessories. this spring edition represents the season, as well as the playful nature of both the company providing the catalogue and some of the current ipod accessories at the time.
Tekserve - catalogue - apple & electronics - This bi-monthly product catalogue features apple products and related electronics. this fall edition employs seasonal imagery, along with the newest mac product at the time--a mouse. a hybrid image plays with nature & technology, resulting in an image to represent Apple's effort to "branch out" into new products.
Tekserve - website - concept - concept for website redesign to portray this apple specialist retail/catalogue company as the fun, quirky, mac & electronics experts that they are.
At Large - t shirts - fashion - T-shirt designs for a futuristic urban brand, with emphasis on digital art and illustration. The concept "At Large" is based on the idea of socio-economic problems that continue to shine as examples of a society ridden with fault. For example, the line depicts the angry, homeless man (reddish-purple tee at bottom right) because he represents the effects of unemployment and poor government support for homeless and poverty-stricken populations.
print pieces - posters & promotion - Various posters and promotional pieces for art, design & music events. "Batucada" is a music event in Phoenix, inspired by the drums & music of Brazilian Batucada music. "The Next Perspective," was a lecture series on future concerns for architects. The "Focus" poster is for an IDSA portfolio seminar, for ASU's sophomore students, conducted by our chapter vice-chair and myself. The "Eduardo Kac: Genesis 2" campaign presents a bio-genetic artist's solo exhibit at Arizona State University.
Interfaces - website & touch screen - TOP: a basic dental website, which also included the design of the "smile" logo. MIDDLE: design portfolio site, which uses color to distinguish between each section. BOTTOM: a touch-screen interface for a baby incubator. The interface uses clear navigation through feedback, as the user works with 3 main types of info: patient status, communication with staff, & device/setup. Quickly-collapsible windows also provide up-to-the-second patient status updates.
