My Senior Collection is inspired by Robert Rauschenburg's Combines period, where he combined 3-D elements in his collages.
I was also inspired by the "pie slices" in this collage.
Here is an example of my exterior dart detail idea and the image that helped inspire me.
I found Robert Rauschenburg on WGSN, the trend forecast site.

This was my original color story, inspired by this interior image. My color story later changed to grey scale.
This is my original fabric story. I narrowed it down from here.
Here are some of my original sketches that reflect this image.
Here are some other ideas I had.
These are my more collage designs that I did.
I really like this layered design. I did some layers in my designs that follow my concept more than this image does.
The 2 colored runway images are from Vivienne Westwood's collection. They resembled what I was going for although my collection ended up being a lot cleaner.
These are also Vivienne Westwood designs from the same collection.
These are other ways I incorporated my exterior dart detail into my designs.
The collar on this image reminded me of some of my collars, although mine are a lot more exaggerated.
This was a pleating idea that I had using the dart idea. I didn't end up using it in my senior collection though.
Instead of all the folds on the image of the skirt, I used exterior darts to achieve a similar effect.
I really liked the image of this dress. I felt it came pretty close to some of my own designs. Except of course I didn't use prints in my collection.
Here are some experimental drapes I did. I ended up doing pleats in the back of a lot of my designs, but i did not end up using these baggy front drapes.
These runway photos are from Jeremy Laing's Fall 2007 Ready-To-Wear collection. They are as close as I have come to finding designs with the same idea as mine. Mine are a lot softer though.
Here are some other drapes I did.
Here are more images from Jeremy Laing's collection. Very similar to some ideas I had but did not end up using.
This image reminded me of my collection while I was in the design process. Now it looks nothing like how my senior collection turned out.
