AstartE / 3D Printed Proactive Ecosystem

AstartE is a family of customized devices aiming to provide a positive biological contribution in fragile, spoiled environments on Earth. It is based on an autonomous, semi-closed loop ecosystem, derived from Bio-regenerative Life Support Systems, to provide clean air, water and nutrients, facing local issues of pollution, desertification, climate instability.
The ecosystem is enclosed by a single, inflatable chamber, while the system allows to set multiple micro-climatic zones. The chamber is divided into a lower, aquatic environment, producing clean water and micro-algae, and an upper, terrestrial environment, destined to air revitalization and nutrient production, through the cultivation of edible, terrestrial plants.
The entire chamber is activated by a single, rotary motion, causing a centrifugal acceleration, resulting in the internal flows required for passive filtration processes.
AstartE employs multiple forms of natural resources to work: wind energy, solar light, water.
