The final poster design demonstrated a strong use of typography, dynamic angles, and some aspect of the Golden Ratio.
The final Romeo and Juliet poster was designed to evoke the strength of love, the passion of not wanting to be separated, and the emotion dying for one another. The blood like roses flowing dynamically at the bottom right simulates the beginning of falling in love and as they flowed upward love developed into a high tide wave of hurting blood.
Sketch no.1 was a resignated structure which resembles a tomb, surrounded by red roses. Then the tragic blood tide strips them both of life.
Sketch no.2 was developed with the bleeding heart of love to symbolize the connection to the characters. The dripping blood onto the wethered rose is a symbol of how it hurt them to live without one another.
Sketch no. 3 was developed on the script concept with the rip flowing through the lettering of their names to evoke the feeling of the broken love between the two. The peeling of a script in the top left resembled the deterioration of life for the both of them.
