First Floor Fixtures, Furniture, Equipment Plan - Both floors feature carpet tile by Interface except in the restrooms where the flooring is Marmoleum in red and yellow tones.
Second Floor Fixture, Furniture, Equipment Plan - Beyond the practical bed, armoire, desk, and lighting in each dorm room, there is a special piece from Pottery Barn Teen--a rotating bookshelf/cork board/mirror/coat hook.
Reflected Ceiling Plan -- First Floor - In keeping with the craftsman style, the light fixtures in the common areas are oak park bronze by Kichker while the hallways are lit with Hubbardton Forge sconces.
Electrical/Data Plan--First Floor - The entire space is fitted with light switches in each room, some with dimmer switches and on separate switching to accommodate different needs in lighting. The rooms are also wired for cable television, land line telephone outlets, and data communication.
Common Area Perspective - This space provides residents a gathering place to watch TV or just hang out on the comfortable sofas. The Herman Miller office chairs allow for time spent on the computers.
Reception Perspective - As the first impression, the reception area is professional, warm and welcoming. The golden tone of the wall color accentuates the glow from the Serene Plateau Chandelier by Kichker. The end table and lighting is in keeping with the craftsman style. The guest chairs are by Herman Miller.
Individual dorm room perspective - Each room is arranged identical to the others, complete with armoire, bed, desk, and lighting, as well as the display it mirror piece. The residents have the freedom to hang art and add to the basic decor as they wish to personalize the space.
Made By Hand Sandwich Shop Perspective - The sandwich shop is open to the public and provides a place for the residents upstairs to work. The booth seating is a Craftmark Built-in w/ SpinneyBeck Red Leather Seat and Kravet fabric on back cushion, Stickley Side Chairs w/Kravet seat fabric, and Stickley breakfast tables throughout.

Harbor House Youth Shelter

The concept for the Harbor House Youth Shelter is based on the theory of the Arts and Crafts Movement: Good design equals good society. The ideal of art and hand-crafting is the individual craftsman taking responsibility and pride in his work. This ideal is reflected in my design through the use of high-quality workmanship and materials.
