We are seeking a Textile and Apparel Designer to join our global cross-functional design team that researches, designs, and delivers awesome end-to-end user experiences for the healthcare division of Honeywell’s Sensing & Productivity Solutions (SPS) business. You will use well established human-centered design principles to ensure Honeywell products and applications are the most useful, usable and desirable products in the marketplace. You will support design initiatives for textile, soft goods and apparel products and contribute directly to creating the next generation of our healthcare products. We will count on you to represent design to our internal stakeholders and external customers. As part of the design team you will collaborate with digital and graphic designers, industrial designers, user researchers, marketing and engineering to produce outstanding branded, seamless experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Ability to design into the brand vision, execute the design creation, and adhere to the design process
Creation and management of apparel designs from sketching, meeting preparation, technical drawings, sample approval and communication with vendors
Research the healthcare market to develop design classifications that will result in products that meet the needs of the market and customer
Ensure make the product design and CMF is aligned with the latest regulatory standards
Research current and new trends in soft goods production
Create presentation boards and conduct product design reviews
Select each fabric, trim, material and color to fit the needs of the market and customer
Work with the team to develop standards to maintain and grow the internal material library
Review and approve proto samples
Identify and alleviate potential manufacturing and distribution issues
Visit trade shows
YOU MUST HAVE:

Bachelor’s degree
5+ years user experience design, to include:
Experience in apparel design
Experience with design trends, benchmarking, forecasting and concept creation
Due to export control laws, all applicants must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents
WE VALUE:

Outstanding design portfolio
Experience in Healthcare and Medical design
Experience designing for strict regulatory-driven industries
Understanding of garment construction and knowledge of pattern-making process
Sketching ability with creativity in both color and design
Ability to analyze data and draw relevant conclusions to create positive results
Ability to visualize things in three dimensions (2D SW, 3D is an advantage)
Working knowledge of how product is sourced
Adept in using relevant design applications (Adobe products)
Comfortable working autonomously
Strong ownership taker, driven to dive into new areas of opportunity
