Job Description

Elaine Santos Design is actively seeking a full-time interior designer/architect with 2-4 years of project management experience in architecture and interior architecture to join our team at our Lower Manhattan studio.

The ideal candidate for our design studio would be an outgoing individual with skills in design, both hand and computer drawing, and proficiency in CAD. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in residential work.

We are looking for someone with expertise in all aspects of design and production, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, varying in size.

The qualified candidate must possess enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and high motivation, coupled with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Experience in interacting with clients, vendors, and contractors is essential. The candidate should demonstrate a good design sense and proficiency in creating construction documents.

The Architect/Interior Designer will be responsible for some or all of the project phases, including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Custom Millwork Detail, and Shop Drawings Review.



Prerequisites: 2-4 years experience working full-time for an Architectural Firm or Interior Design Firm

-Candidate must confirm eligibility/qualifications to work in the United States
-Proficient in producing CD’s
-Project Management/Consultants coordination
-Client and Vendor relations experience
-Familiar with NYC design sources - Hard materials, millworkers, textiles, plumbing, etc.
-Knowledge of general NY NY CT building codes
-Must be able to source and coordinate finishes, plumbing fixtures, furniture, decorative lighting, textiles, and window treatments
