Assistant Professor: School of Art, Illustration
SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY: The School of Art, within the College of Visual and Performing Arts welcomes applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Illustration Program beginning August 2024.
Qualifications: MFA in Illustration, Visual Communications, Animation or equivalent; professional experience in the field and at least three years of teaching experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment in established and foundational approaches supporting contemporary practices across a broad spectrum, and an interest in several fields such as editorial and sequential illustration, licensing, animation, and gaming industry. The school is actively seeking candidates who value equity and inclusion, who incorporate marginalized voices and perspectives into their pedagogy, and who have experience mentoring students and/or artists of diverse identities.
You will join a dedicated faculty and engage with students with diverse backgrounds and interests.
