Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. has an immediate opening for an experienced and talented?Associate Art Director for our User Interface Design team. We are seeking a User Interface Designer with experience leading teams and bringing digital design solutions to market. This is a design leadership role that will be responsible for designing and delivering beautiful and purposeful user interfaces that delight end users.
The Associate Art Director will drive creative design exploration with the User Interface Design Team through concept development, iteration, prototyping, user testing, and specification by close collaboration with researchers, interaction designers, software developers, as well as product and business stakeholders. In addition, they will be responsible for upholding the design process as well as evolving how we work by taking advantage of new technology and techniques for developing the user experience.
Responsibilities:
Lutron software development is driven by innovation and creativity, and this role will be focused on applying your skills in the following areas:
- Providing design leadership and contributions to the development of world-class user
interface designs for mobile apps, software applications and web tools.
- Collaborating closely with user interface designers, design researchers, interaction
designers, software developers, product managers, business leaders, and marketing teams
- Contributing to the evolution of design themes that provide the foundation for the user
experience and enable efficient design development to support Lutron’s product and
business initiatives
- Contributing to and managing the definition and creation of a flexible and coherent design
system with component libraries
- Gathering design inspiration through research and benchmarking
- Ensuring the work communicates clearly and delights users
- Inspiring other designers to create world-class work
- Developing a team with mastery of User Interface Design as a discipline and a practice
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in User Interface Design, Visual Design, Graphic Design, or related field
Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.0
- 5+ years of industry experience in the field of User Interface Design for apps, software, or web
- Experience leading a team of designers with examples of delivering product to market
- An ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines of design, engineering, product
management, business leaders and stakeholders
- A comprehensive portfolio that showcases your digital designs, demonstrates stylistic
diversity, and includes examples of digital design work that is now in the market
- Excellent eye for typography, layout, and color with an eye for detail
- Ability to design in different styles to adapt to the needs of the brand
- Collaborative mindset and a proven ability to work with a team and deliver designs to market
- Ability to effectively communicate design choices and rationale
- Solid knowledge of data visualization and how it applies to creating impactful user interface
designs
- Sound work ethic with established organizational, time management, and hands-on skills
- Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience in any or all is a plus: Motion design, Animations, Rendering, Photography, Video
