As a Color and Materials designer, you will be an integral part of the Innovation and Design Team, helping to create the future of commercial truck and bus industries. As a global company under TRATON Group, our Design Team is actively involved in the development of emerging technologies, electrification, autonomous driving, and environmentally conscious products.
What You’ll Do:
Ideate, visualize, and develop design proposals for colors, materials, and finishes with the highest level of craftsmanship for our brands - International Truck and IC Bus.
Develop digital and physical CMF presentations that show a future vision for our vehicles.
Review and approve color, materials, and finishes for all vehicle exterior and interior surfaces utilizing cutting-edge technology/equipment.
Collaborate and strategize with cross functional teams, including Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to manage design and color intent through color tuning and material mastering.
Opportunities to explore other design disciplines: Industrial, Graphic and UI/UX Design, prototyping.
Creates and develops interior and exterior colors, paints and fabrics. Presents ideas in product design development or adaptation.
Applies company policies and standard practices/procedures to perform routine and structured work assignments or to resolve routine issues or problems of limited scope. Has limited to no discretion to vary from established procedures. Builds stable working relationships inside of the organization.
As a level in the Professional Track, work is accomplished through independent contributions or project work requiring advanced subject area knowledge and decision-making skills. Bachelor's degree OR at least 2 years of design experience.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
Preferred BA in CMF/Industrial/Transportation Design
Rendering software knowledge (Keyshot, Vred preferred)
CAD Software knowledge (NX, Alias, or equivalent)
Understanding of Color Theory and Material Properties
