The Department of Art + Design in the College of Arts, Media and Design, invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant, Associate or Full Teaching Professor position in Design. We seek candidates with a record of excellent creative practice, innovative pedagogy, significant exhibited and/or published work and relevant teaching experience in the theory and practice of human-centered design, design thinking, and design systems. Applicants with experience in academia, institutions and/or industry who bring a systems point of view and an ability to work across disciplines on complex issues via a design focus are encouraged to apply. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in and capacity for delivering graduate and entry- to upper-level undergraduate design courses. Renewable position, teaching load is 3 classes per semester with the possibility of summer classes for extra compensation.
Candidates must have teaching experience at the college level and a doctorate, MFA, or MDes in Design or completed prior to the start of the appointment. Candidates should demonstrate a record of excellent creative practice, innovative pedagogy, significant exhibited and/or published work and relevant teaching experience in design processes and social impact design.
We are looking for a broad range of design expertise across positions (two renewable and two visiting positions).
