As the Environmental Designer you will be responsible for the conceptualization of retail and wholesale environments including store roll-outs, special events, partnerships, POP/in-store materials, window displays, fixtures, tradeshow/sales meeting collateral and other custom executions. You will act as a liaison with the construction department where you will be overseeing site surveys, approving and revising architectural flash plans, and creating purchase orders for all new stores. To bring concepts to life, you will collaborate with senior category managers and the production and visual merchandising teams.
How You Will Make a Difference
What you will do:
Conceptualize, develop, and present window and in-store displays for all VANS owned retail and partner stores.
Coordinates and collaborates with corresponding Art Directors in creative brain storming sessions.
You will design 3D models and photorealistic renderings of retail and wholesale environments, fixtures, build outs, store windows, and other visual collateral.
How you will do it: Your contribution to the Environmental Design team will be essential. Creating progressive design concepts and ideas. Bringing new, fresh, and innovative expertise to elevate our brand experiences to the next level. While maintaining and delivering projects according to timelines, deliverable dates, and on budget.
What success looks like: Designing displays, atmospheres, and environments where our customers come to know and feel our brands values and culture. We push the envelop to constantly develop designs that are launch pads for what’s next and set our self up for success project after project. We think forward; always learning and discovering ways to bring ideas to life in compelling and digital/interactive ways.

Skills for Success
Years of Related Professional Experience: 3-5 years
Educational Position Requirements:
A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
What we expect you already know:
Adheres to deadlines and can effectively prioritize workload
Proficiency in Adobe Design suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
Proficiency in at least one 3D modeling/rendering platform (i.e. SketchUp, Autocad, Keyshot etc.)
Keeps up-to-date with trends in retail, merchandising and new products and materials in the design field
Ability to understand, assess & problem solve by leveraging technical skills
