We're a small, collaborative team looking for an Intermediate Industrial Designer to join us on a maternity leave contract. This role combines industrial design, product development, and visual communications, making it ideal for someone who enjoys contributing across a wide variety of creative and technical projects. As part of our team, you'll support the development of new products from concept through production while also contributing to marketing materials, product documentation, sales and brand communications.
This is a full-time, primarily in-office position based in Vancouver.
Key Responsibilities
• Taking design direction from the Creative Director you will aide in the development of design concepts through hand sketching, 3D CAD and prototypes (3D printing, 1:1 models)
• Create design-intent drawings, 3D files and other technical assets that you will communicate to our production partners.
• Material + Finish research, finish development, prototype evaluation.
• Assist in the creation of brand-correct visual assets and marketing materials, including catalogues, price lists, website content, renderings and product instructions, etc.
• Assist the sales and customer service teams with product inquiries, renderings, drawings, collateral, etc.
• Contribute meaningfully to discussions around future company endeavours – e.g. sustainability strategy, marketing & branding, technology adaptation, etc.
• Ad-hoc projects on request
Qualifications
• Degree in Industrial Design or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in industrial, furniture, or interior product design.
• Proficiency in Rhino and V-Ray, including modelling, rendering, and technical drawings.
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Familiarity with SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is an asset.
• Strong sketching, visual communication, and presentation skills.
• An understanding and curiosity of materials and manufacturing processes, and product development.
• Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a collaborative, small-team environment.
• Photography, workshop experience, and knowledge of furniture or design history are considered assets.
• Eligible to work in Canada or willing to relocate to Vancouver.
