Job Description

Variance is looking for a lead product designer/head of design to join the product team. As the lead and only designer at the company, they would be responsible for all the experience and interface design for the Variance platform.

Remote — 4+ Years Experience

A great candidate would…
- Consider themselves versed in both UX and UI and can take a design all the way through low fidelity and high fidelity iterations
- Be a system thinker who can work through and visualize interconnecting concepts and design for the present and future needs
- Be comfortable working with a very small team, including directly with the founders on building a product and a company
- Adapt well to a quickly moving environment

Required Experience:
- 4+ years of product design experience
- Early-stage experience working in a small team, concepting a product and multiple online user interfaces
- Have user research experience talking to potential customers, end-users, and other stakeholders
- Experience creating and testing design prototypes with users
- Hands-on design skills, preferably using Figma, or similar tools, for remote collaboration
- Working closely with Engineers on implementing and iterating on designs while they are being developed

Preferable Experience:
- Building and managing a team of designers
- Previous experience designing B2B SaaS software
- Prior experience of designing a browser extension
- Marketing/branding design experience
- Front-end coding skills
- Knowledge of product analytics and product-led growth
