Founded in 2016 in Vancouver, Canada, FORM is the sports technology company behind the FORM Smart Swim Goggles and membership. The membership unlocks guided workouts, an ever-growing workout library, pre-workout tutorials, and much more. Now, swimmers can see real-time workout instructions, performance metrics, and progress updates in their goggles while they swim.

Since launching in 2019, our goggles have been awarded the RedDot Product Design Award “Smart Device”, iF Product Design Award, German Innovation Award, and an ISPO Brand New Award. Position Overview
-Location: based in Vancouver
-Job type: Full-time, permanent
-Compensation: Commensurate with experience
-Experience: 5+ years
-Reporting into: VP Product Design
-Working with: Director of Product Design and Manufacturing

Core Duties
-Develop and maintain detailed 3D CAD specifications
-Collaborate with Asian manufacturing vendors to support mass manufacturing

Responsibilities
-Develop and maintain detailed part and drawing specifications
-Conduct design reviews illustrating different mechanical concepts; outlining pros/cons, risks, development path etc.
-Build prototypes to test and validate designs
-Engage with manufacturing vendors for DFM feedback and RFQs
-Generate detailed 2D reference drawings
-Support manufacturing with detailed documentation and timely communication
-Support cost reduction initiatives to reduce part count and simplify assembly processes
-Manage and communicate issues, risks, and propose mitigation strategies as required

Required Skills and Qualifications
-5+ years using SolidWorks 3D CAD, including SolidWorks surfaces
-Experience designing parts and assemblies for plastic injection moulding
-Experience using 3D printed prototypes to iterate and validate detail designs
-Domain expertise with consumer electronics and/or wearable technology devices
-Demonstrable experience with new product introduction (NPI)
-Knowledge of design for assembly (DFA) and design for manufacturing (DFM)
-Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards
-Ability to focus on holistic outcomes, and prioritizing critical path tasks
-Clear communication skills and ability to explain analytical thinking to a broad audience

Nice To Have Skills
-Familiar with Google apps (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Google Drive
-Related experience using other 3D CAD solutions (Inventor, Pro Engineer, Onshape)
-Experience working in Industrial Design and/or Mechanical Engineering teams
-Experience with waterproof enclosures (up to 5ATM)
-Experience in a fast-paced, energetic startup environment
-Great communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to effectively multitask and wear many hats
-Entrepreneurial spirit—self-starter and proactive
-Flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing business conditions and priorities
