We are looking for a strategic writer with a solid track record of clever copywriting, smart thinking, and people-first leadership. This role is responsible for a mix of oversight and direct contribution to branding projects for clients of a wide range of industries and sizes, while also living out our core values of courage, truth, and harmony.
Our team has three main practices: brand strategy, writing/naming, and design all in service of our focused expertise in launching and refreshing brand identities. This role will lead a hybrid team of writers, namers, and strategists, as well as collaborate on cross-functional project teams. We believe in close collaboration with our clients, so this leadership role will work directly with founders, CMOs and CEOs to help lead them through the brand definition and expression process and report directly to our co-founder.
This role is 33% challenging, encouraging, and reviewing (people/team development), 33% in the trenches doing the work (writing positioning statements, high-level brand messaging, defining brand voice, etc.), and 33% leading and guiding clients to smart answers.

You should apply if you have:
A minimum of 5 years of creative agency experience
A minimum of 2 years of direct management experience with direct reports
Extensive experience developing and writing brand positioning statements, audience personas, and brand voice/messaging (brand/product naming work a bonus)
Experience in the brand identity process from research to launch to manage
A knack for listening more than talking; translating client problems into clear goals
A bias for collaboration and ability to work closely with strategists, writers, designers and project managers
Stellar communication skills and plenty of experience leading presentations and facilitating sessions with clients
The desire to mentor and develop direct reports to ensure their career growth
The ability to inspire creativity and strategic thinking will all personality types
A positive go-getter attitude, looking for autonomy and influence
