Product Design Lead

Root Systems is a stealth startup in its initial stages, undergoing development under a working title. Our mission is to revolutionize financial transactions and collaborations, starting with the creative ecosystem. We will provide rightsholders, distributors, and consumers with more control over their monetary transactions, while streamlining processes like project funding, subscription management, and revenue allocation. Our core feature is a digital roots system that acts as a connective medium between users, allowing funds to stream seamlessly within the network. Root Systems aspires to create a positive impact on society, guided by a common sense ethos, and a portion of all resources flows back into the ecosystem and towards those who need them the most.

The Product Design Lead will be responsible for driving the design vision and strategy at Root Systems, ensuring a seamless user experience across all aspects of our platform. With a strong background in product design, user research, and UX/UI principles, the Product Design Lead will play a crucial role in shaping the overall look and feel of our product.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the design process from concept to execution, working closely with actual people working in the industry to understand user needs and translate them into intuitive and visually appealing designs. You will be responsible for creating wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that align with our brand identity and reflect best practices in usability.

As the Product Design Lead, you will continuously gather feedback and iteratively refine designs based on user insights and business goals. You will own the design system and ensure consistency and cohesiveness throughout the product.

In addition to the core responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with engineers and other designers to ensure successful implementation of designs and contribute to the overall product strategy. You may also be involved in mentoring and managing junior designers as the team grows.

The interview process consists of several stages, including a portfolio review, a paid design challenge, and an interview with the CEO. We encourage you to ask questions and showcase your passion for user-centered design throughout the process.

This role is based in Athens, Greece. If you are not already located in Athens, the company will assist with relocation costs. We can also assist you with the Visa process and help you find a beautiful furnished apartment in the city center.. Pets are welcome, and our offices have a stunning view of Plaka and the Acropolis, which is only minutes away on foot.

Requirements

Ideal candidate should have:

• Several years of experience leading and managing high-caliber design teams
• Experience designing interactive applications
• Excellent visual, UI, and interaction skills
• Passion for design and figuring out best-in-class solutions to UX, UI, and interaction challenges
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to think through complex interaction design
• Expressing ideas through visuals and prototyping
• Experience with design systems, programming, and using technical tools

You must have secured or at least be eligible to receive an appropriate residence permit in Greece, as such permit is a precondition for employment.
