Teaching kids to think critically and communicate effectively has never been more important, and NoRedInk helps students become better writers in more than 60% of middle and high schools in the U.S. We're looking for a UX/UI Design Manager to join our team as a player-coach. In this role, you’ll manage a team of 2-3 talented Product Designers while also executing on your own design work, initially as as a member of our Product Growth/Marketing team.
In this role, you will:
Own design for a specific product area (Growth)
Create user flows, prototypes, and high fidelity mockups for new features and experiments
Manage and grow a team of high-performing product designers
Coordinate design work across multiple teams and product areas
Provide feedback and direction on design deliverables in order to increase design quality
Drive improvements to our design tooling and processes
5+ years experience in SaaS product design
2+ years experience managing other product designers
Strong design craft and the ability to create high-performance designs that both solve user needs and achieve our product goals
Ability to act as a “player coach,” managing and overseeing the work of other designers while also driving your own individual contributor work
Experience working on an agile team with product managers and engineers
Outstanding written, verbal, and visual communication skills
Customer-focused mindset with an interest in serving students and educators
