Job Description

We are seeking an energetic and self driven person to join us on our journey to design and develop the world’s most compelling furniture collections. Curiosity and exploration will be key in your ability to successfully thrive in this position, to both uncover opportunities and the means with which to seize them.
You should come in with an understanding of the prototyping process and its purpose for answering questions in varying degrees of complexity, and you should already have practical experience with engineering and manufacturing of furniture or a related product. Also, as new ideas often come from the creative interpretation of what's been done in the past, please be passionate about design history.
The Fun Stuff:
- Facilitate the design process from ideation through production
- Answer design questions as they relate to the feasibility of production and use
- Research new manufacturing and material opportunities
- Engage with and develop relationships with new vendors for production and prototyping
- Put together market research and inspiration for new design concepts
- Ideate new design concepts through sketching, CAD, and occasional prototyping
- Discuss design as it relates to context, form, and use
The Right Person:
- Bachelors of Science/Art in Industrial Design or related field
- Solidworks proficient
- Curious, energetic, and resourceful
- Collaborate as well as work independently
- Knowledge of how furniture is produced
Extra Credit
- Experience in other CAD software (Rhino, Blender, 3ds Max, Gravity Sketch, etc.) for new product design ideation
- 3D Visualization/rendering experience
- Upholstery or other leather/fabric/textile experience
- Woodworking experience
