Job Description

Marstone, Inc. — a leading provider of digital wealth management solutions — is seeking a Product Designer to help innovate, design, and advance the company’s products. The Product Designer will work alongside the Product team in defining user journeys, experiences, and interfaces, and take the lead on the visual design of the company’s current and future products. The candidate should be able to work closely with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to creatively solve design and user-interface challenges, by ideating and delivering journey maps, wireframes, UI prototypes, MVPs, design systems and component libraries, and final front-end design solutions.

Responsibilities:
Drive the usability, visual language, and front-end design of our digital wealth products

Collaborate with Product Managers on continued product evolution, including new products and features in our existing UI as well as next-generation product development

Develop, own, maintain, and evolve the Marstone Design System to ensure UI consistency and streamline our design and development processes??

Own the component library so design concepts can be maintained, reused, and iterated

Develop and communicate our design language and design system to provide?Designers and Engineers with consistent and accessible building blocks that bring our products to life

Work with the Product team to create wireframes, storyboards, process flows, and site maps that effectively communicate interaction and design concepts

Work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to ensure UI accuracy and design fidelity across all phases of product development

Distill and incorporate learnings from user research, competitive analysis, and client requirements

Build and refine product prototypes for a variety of clients and audience types

Collaborate with Marketing and Client Success teams to ensure that the language, content, and voice of our products is compelling, understandable, and maximizes user adoption

Exhibit a knowledge of Design Thinking and Lean Startup to design, facilitate, and co-lead team and client work sessions and presentations.

Help lead the development of product-related documentation and communication materials


Skills:
Ability to design complex fintech products from a human and empathetic perspective, not strictly from a utilitarian point of view

Natural desire to innovate beyond current industry standards, while maintaining intuitive simplicity, sophistication, and a compelling visual style

Comfortable across all phases of design development — from initial strategy to journey mapping and wireframes, to visual design and final execution.

Solid understanding of building and maintaining a comprehensive design system, and its relationship to coding languages, technologies, and development processes

Ability to develop design strategies and systems that are optimized for a white-label business model

Ability to collaborate with Engineering and Business teams throughout development cycles to maintain focus on user-center thinking and design integrity

Ability to write content and maintain a consistent language style

Commitment to building Marstone’s overall business by growing technical knowledge, instilling design-specific best practices, and creating innovative and engaging design solutions

Expertise or proficiency with Figma, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn new applications that enhance our product development processes

Understanding of common user platforms, devices, responsiveness, and cross-platform requirements and methodologies.

Confident, effective communication skills with internal teams and clients.

Ability to facilitate team and client presentations and work sessions

Ability to define and prioritize business problems and procedural obstacles, and work with internal teams to solve them.

Willingness to examine and enhance company culture, processes, and deliverables as a visible and vocal member of the team.



Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a design-related field, such as Graphic Design, Interactive Design, or Product Design and/or equivalent of at least 5 to 7 years of experience as an UX, UI, or product designer.

Portfolio demonstrating smart design-systems thinking, a user-centered mindset, and a dynamic visual style.

Willingness and ability to travel to Marstone’s Providence, RI office or client sites when required.

Experience with Fintech or financial services is a plus.
