(Information Technology Analyst 3)


The New Jersey Judiciary’s Data Analytics, Research and Standards Division is seeking a senior technical individual to work on the UI/UX Design Team. The Judiciary has a large portfolio of applications that are in various stages of UI/UX standards compliance.

Under the guidance of the Administrative Supervisor, the selected individual will have the opportunity to be the technical lead of the team. Typical duties will also involve leading team meetings and interfacing with development with regards to UI bugs, enhancements and pattern changes. The candidate will additionally be tasked with senior level work including researching and developing new UI/UX standards for the Judiciary.

Note: This position may qualify for up to 3 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access. This program does not supersede the “New Jersey First Act”, which requires newly hired Judiciary employees to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. 

Effective February 1, 2022, the New Jersey Judiciary will require all state court judges and staff to provide
to Human Resources either (1) proof of initial vaccination and booster against COVID-19 once eligible to receive the booster; or (2) results of weekly tests for COVID-19. This information is maintained in a secure Judiciary application that is accessible only by a limited group of Human Resources staff.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

* Review team deliverables
* Collaborate with the team during checkpoints throughout the day
* Coordinate with developers, UI/UX champions and UI/UX Team
* Understand Pega guardrails and technical feasibility
* Research new industry and Pega UI/UX concepts, and if feasible create new standards and patterns accordingly
* Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and personas using UI mockups and prototypes that clearly demonstrate how applications look and feel
* Assist junior staff with defining product workflows based on business requirements
* Provide alternative business user flows that comply with standards
* Identify responsive UX problems and recommend solutions
* Participate in design sprints as lead UI/UX representative
* Perform user studies to understand the impact of design and constantly innovate to improve user experience
* Approve or reject mock designs
* Oversee Agile stories, bugs and sprints; coordinate with business and development
* Oversee the enhancements and upgrades to the Judiciary UI/UX style guide and Adobe XD assets library
* Review and provide technical approval for release notes when Judiciary UI/UX style guide or Adobe XD assets are updated, enhanced or deprecated

Requirements:

* Passion for UI/UX design
* The ability to understand business requirements and needs while holding and enforcing established standards
* Dedication to exceptional user experiences with obsessive attention to detail
* Experience working with the Agile methodology
* Excellent project and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met
* Excellent communicator, both verbally and written
* Strong desire to solve challenging problems, learn new things and wear many hats
* Must have online portfolio of samples of recent web and mobile related work (i.e. Mockups, prototypes etc.)

Highly desired: Degree or experience in human interaction, interaction designs or visual designs. Experience with 508/WCAG compliance standards and web/mobile accessibility.

Salary range is $82,069.75 - $109,595.55. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information
systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity and three (3) years of professional experience in: analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, resolving technical problems, testing, defining business requirements, training and/or installing computer systems applications OR planning, acquiring, installing and implementing telecommunications facilities and services, wide area networks, or local area networks OR generating and maintaining system software.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.A Bachelor's in any field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.An Associate's in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity and two (2) years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for a the required education.An Associate's in any field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education.A Master's in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity may be substituted for the required education OR one (1) year of experience. Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
