You will be responsible for creating and managing interactive design elements, page-level layout, and consistent visual treatment of websites and web applications. Participate in the concept development of design solutions and be able to prepare those ideas in low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity comps to share with our business owners.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent visual design skills ranging from color and typography to layout and animation with a strong foundation in user experience. You'll be expected to present regularly to our team of developers and share your work for feedback via peer review.

What You'll Do:

- Create innovative designs for websites and web applications and other digital platforms across the enterprise.
- Help lead our efforts in building and maintaining our Design Language System.
- Communicate design ideas using a range of tools from wireframes to high-fidelity comps.
- Participate as a member of our core team with backgrounds in user experience design and content strategy.
- Work as an integral member of project teams with backgrounds in development, analytics and project management.
- Produce multiple design concepts that engage with users and fulfill project goals and requirements.
- Ensure consistency with Blue Cross NC brand guidelines as well as design standards from our Design Language System.

What's in your toolbox:

- Proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD. Our team uses Figma as our main communication tool.
- Ability to develop design prototypes, storyboards and written visual user interface specifications.
- Experience with front-end technologies, agile development methodologies, and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
- Familiarity with animation and motion design.
- Experience in design thinking/ human-centered design.
- Presentation skills, storytelling, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with front-end development languages and how to translate designs into responsive-web guidelines.

What You'll Bring (Hiring Requirements)

Sr User Interface Design Analyst:
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
- 5+ years of experience in a related field.
- In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in a related field.
- Portfolio is required - please attach samples of your best work to your application record.

User Interface Design Analyst:
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
- 3+ years of experience in a related field.
- In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of experience in a related field.
