Hydraulic Excavator Cab Interior - Re-design of a Caterpillar Hydraulic Excavator cab interior. Team-oriented design, consideration of human factors (including video and operator task analysis), interface design and trend analysis were key areas of study.
Modular Shelving - Shelving created for the office, lobby, or home. Additional units may be added; shelf surfaces may be exchanged with customized units for special applications, for instance: LCD panels, mouse, and lighting to create an interactive product display.

Exhibit, Materials & Sustainability - Virginia Tech International Contemporary Furniture Fair Exhibit - showcasing materials and sustainable design through student work, including an off-grid solar powered house.
Exhibit arrives as crate via fork-lift, and unfolds to create exhibit space. Additional components and fragile items such as plasma screen arrive in separate crate. See unfolding sequence diagram above.

Stereo Meter - Intending to use LEDs in new ways as part of a lighting system, this Stereo Meter was birthed. Light dances within a polypropylene body to music in real time. Interfaces with audio equipment via headphone or RCA outputs. Ideas for future models include built-in microphone input and/or electromagnetic field sensor, with light output of meter based on sensitivity to fields generated by amplifier, or even through measurement of faint disruptions caused by human movement about a room.
