BirdHaus - The Bottle Gourd is a squash-like vegetable whose hollow interior is often used by many bird species for shelter. Its form directly inspired this bird house design. BirdHaus is designed to be made from slip cast clay and can be taken apart for seasonal cleaning of old debris from nesting birds. Surface decoration resembles colorful markings and patterns inspired by North American birds.
Paw Computer Mouse - The stylish design of this computer mouse, named "Paw" is a result of paying thorough attention to ergonomic considerations. The fan-like design is achieved by studying the natural spread of the human hand at rest. This provides a hand position comfortable enough for extended use and its buttons can be individually programmed for several different "click" options.
Moody Lamp - This lamp uses a wire armature fitted with colored, woven "hoods". Switching hood colors and weave patterns create different lighting atmospheres. This lighting concept can be used in nightclubs, lounge bars and in residences to alter the interior mood and ambiance.
Sabre-Shaper Power Tool - The Sabre-Shaper is a cordless, dual use cutting and shaping tool designed with slip resistant handles for the craftsperson. Blades for cutting can be changed to files for shaping a variety of materials. A blower located on the side can be positioned for removing dust and cutting debris from the work area.
Tabletop - This tabletop product was manufactured using the process of ceramic slipcasting. Made in molds, slipcast items are hollow, light and are quickly produced. The flame effect shown was made by layering chemically dissimilar glazes which reacted with each other when the piece was fired in the kiln. Matte and glossy Metallic glaze suggests this piece is made from a material entirely different than clay. It thus appears heavier and the antique illusion adds value to the product.
Sushi Serving Tray - This space-saving serving tray design includes all the necessary features for enjoying a sushi or sashimi meal. The design employs handles for delivery from kitchen to table, three circular wells for holding soy sauce, wasabi and ginger, and a longer recess for use as a chopstick rest. The tray reduces the amount of dishware used by patrons and is specifically designed for stacking on shelves and in dishwashers.
